Butch stubbornness makes me believe we start the season with QD and then eventually replace him with JG or SJ after QD gets sacked repeatedly because of little mobility

Better hope the O line pass protects better than it has. Otherwise he will finish the season on the injury report like our last pro style qb.

Then our best lineman Wiesman was injured. Then almost every lineman missed time at some point and we ended up playing Alabama with a 270 lb right tackle, but hey DeBord should have called better plays. lol

You're right. My point is UTs scheme causes guys to sit on their heels more so than firing off. Also they do not put a hat on a hat like other RPO offenses. I don't think it will matter who is playing in there healthy or not. I think there would certainly be improvement of course when guys are full strength, but App State looked like a bunch of world beaters up front against that O-line. Again I know guys were injured but Ive seen Coleman Thomas get tossed too many times while squating like a baseball catcher and never really moving forward or backwards. Maybe if Scott is in charge of the offense he can supplement some of that and we can use better fronts to attack a defense.

Worley didn't help himself either
He didn't know how to throw open WRs nor aniticpate breaks.
The line was a F all the way around but combine that with a guy who holds the ball and can't stretch the field. Disasterous
At the very least Dormady can unleash deep shots

Regardlessof who starts, I think our QB situation will surprisngly be a strength next yr.

Speaking of Worley it makes me think Butch will give QD the benefit of seniority and let them compete like Peterman, Dobbs, and Riley did. I have to think if that happens Guarantano has to play sooner rather than later either way. We have to see what he's made of. Who knows maybe the family connection with Butch allows JG to start immediately.

Agreed. QB won't be a problem next year regardless of who starts.

First off an offense will never have a "hat on a hat" the offense will always be out numbered. 2, the reason a good DT is in high demand is because he will always be double teamed. This is so the center had time to get control of his block and then the guard will scrape off to the linebacker (the main reason our run defense was bad the guard didn't need to help the center and vise versa) iii, the tackle with always be in a 2 or 3 point stance and the 2 point stance is harder to get any push because there is no weight momentum to get the going forward. So on and so forth. The point of this is we have never ran an RPO and with Scott I don't believe we ever will. Scott, imo, will further advance or "hard-nosed spread"

I agree it is a game changer. Most on here are not considering the impact this would have on an O scheme, which also impacts the type players the program recruits, because they are unaware this has been in serious discussions in recent years. Most all HC's have. That will sometimes explain the coaching hires and players they recruit. It also changes D schemes if it goes away.

You think Dobbs did not run read pass options? Or this offense does not include RPO?
