If ever there was an illustration of the difference between the RF and the FF, just have a look at the Hubbs thread in the FF, then have a look in here. Polar opposite levels of sanity.

Is it possible to see a Co-OC of Scott and CZA? If we are going to promote within and both of them have very little experience then why not. It's not my first choice by any means as I want a proven OC but the Co-OC route has worked at other places like TCU.

Some interesting tie ins with Gullickson that I didn't know about (maybe it had been posted before here and I just missed it):

Gullickson was the S&C coach at Rutgers when Butch was a grad assistant there. During that time he was also the S&C coach for Guarantano's dad.

I always wonder how the mechanics of that work. It's not like you can have two people calling plays, so there are never true co-OCs.

Never been a fan of "Co OC's." If you have a minute and a half to win the game, who is calling the plays?

Michigan loses like 40 seniors. They'll be rebuilding next year. The Big 10 will be Ohio State still.

My 4 are:

1. Florida State
2. USC
3. Tennessee
4. Ohio State or Oklahoma

PSU returns almost everybody, brings in a top 5 class, and beat OSU this year.

Edit: Ignore the top 5 class part. Not sure where I pulled that from.

One would be more of a game plan coordinator and one would be more of a game day coordinator and would call the plays I would imagine. I have no insight into the inner workings of a true Co-OC system but that is how I would think it works.

Man. The more I watch Saquon Barkley the more I love him. IMO he is the best RB prospect since Adrian Peterson. His tape is more impressive than Leonard Fournette or Ezekiel Elliott. The kid reminds me of LaDanian Tomlinson.

Special player.

Even that seems awkward. I would rather the person calling the plays be the one who has the most say over the game plan. IMO it just seems like a way to make two coaches happy at the expense of the offense running smoothly.

I'm not either but it does seem to work for other schools. Clemson, TCU, Texas, Ohio State, Louisville, etc. All those schools either have Co-OC's or did last year. Seemed to work for them. No idea how it all works together though in terms of play calling, game planning, etc.

Now compare those stats to the 2016 stats and get back to me....

Welcome

Because Jancek is a wizard who would have cast protective spells to prevent injuries to Cam, JRM, and Tuttle? Even you aren't slow enough to believe that.

Maybe you should stick to Man in the High Castle for your alternative reality fantasies.

the usc qb will be a heisman candidate. he is for real

Leading candidates will be Sam Darnold (USC), Saquon Barkley (Penn State), Lamar Jackson (Louisville), and Jalen Hurts (Alabama).

But knowing the heisman, it'll be someone no one mentions. I think Jarrett Guarantano will be in the dicussion and might make it to New York.

I'd be curious to know how many are title only and how many actually evenly split OC duties up somehow.

Wouldn't the game day coordinator just kind of ignore the game plan coordinator if he wasn't a fan of something?

I would think one would be more of a paper OC, but then what is the point?

Maybe in a CO OC system they trade off series and the HC dictates later in the game who makes the calls based on how the game is going?

Let's just make it easy and avoid the situation.

Of course, it would be very Tennessee to go with the most unwieldy solution.

Butch must have kicked Dudleys87's puppy or something. That dude puts the RF Negas to shame!
