Debord to Indiana as OC

Can't wait until next year and you whiners are wishing we had him back! I guarantee at some point those words will come forth..

The idea of Helfrich coming is extremely remote....think Lloyd Christmas.

What's going to be funny is the meltdown on here when it doesn't happen. It will be Gruden-esque.

This fanbase loves to create a scenario in their mind then blames everyone else when it doesn't happen.

IMO, the game plan itself was more to blame than play calling in games where we failed, played poorly. Lots of people don't differentiate the two, but they are two completely different aspects of the game.

Don't you try and take my delusions of grandeur away from me. Don't you do it.

Basilio reminds me of one of my guilty pleasures from a couple decades ago. There was a radio call-in show called "Coast to Coast" with Art Bell. It covered all sorts of paranormal and supernatural topics and had just enough plausibility to be interesting though it was rarely believable. It had a rather large cult following of true believers. I for one enjoyed it. I could suspend disbelief long enough to wonder "what if?".

Basilio relies on the same model (and production equipment, apparently).

Well, you weren't the only one. I enjoyed it also, like to imagine what if?

id be happy with Tony Franklin too!

So Helfrich was 15th nationally on offense in the PAC 12 and is the 2nd coming, but DeBord was 24th nationally in the SEC and he's an idiot that needed to go according to you. That about sums up you and your logic.

Are you that dense or a liar? I'll let you decide in what way you suck at life. Where did I ever state that 'Debord needed to go'?

My actual stance was move Debord to the O-line, hire a creative offensive mind that can coach DBs and ditch the mid major offense that we run. And good job with the hyperbole, you will never hear me laud anyone as the '2nd coming' as I know enough about something I did and not only watched that it's never one guy that's the problem. This is Butch's crossroads as to whether he wants to be looked upon as elite by bring in guys that make him look like a million bucks. Or sticking with the status quo and be seen as a guy with a ceiling.

Seems like you may be butthurt that exposed you as a contradicting azzhat that's only good for a fly by zinger every now and then.

History? The same history where he ditched Jancek for Shoop? Yeah, that clearly indicates CZA or Scott is getting OC like you've claimed many times in this thread.

It makes sense because Zach learned under Debord.
It makes sense because Butch can still be in control
Shoop isn't all he swore he was.
Scott drew interest for an HC position so it makes sense for Butch to offer Scott in an effort to keep him around.

Lol. If you approve of DeBord then why move him to Oline and be replaced by someone who hasn't proven he can be more effective? Doesn't that mean he needs to go as OC? Where did I mischaracterize your sentiments? You're just looking for anything that will deflect from the fact that this team has underachieved because of Butch Jones, not because of some coordinators that need to be reshuffled.

What would be funny to me is if Helfrich was brought aboard and the condescending know it alls has to regroup and come up with the next reason to be miserable. The fanbase didn't create this scenario out of thin air. Hubbs and Callahan both said there's smoke. I remember during the Gruden stuff, no legit analyst gave it much legs.

so if he does nothing, he is lambasted....if he does something, he is lambasted.

most of you all are approaching bama mouth breather territory.

:eek:hmy: Too far man, too far...

You can call people almost any name in the book, call them out, drag their name through the mud, heck even talk about their mothers! But to call someone a... a... a Bama fan!?! (I almost puked just typing it)

There was the line and you crossed it. That is the lowest of low blows. Too far man..

Lambasting? Questioning the wisdom of allowing staff changes with contracts in play and no successor to Hart in place. How is that lambasting Butch? If you're going to start hurling insults, at least do me the courtesy of reading the post with some degree of interpretation first.

At first, I was totally wanting Helfrich. After some consideration, I am not sure he is the guy to get her done. His resume looks great, but when you start looking at the small details there are some questions I would have for him. Who was actually calling plays at Oregon? If the answer is Chip, I would keep looking. Would coach Z and Scott work well as CO-OCs? Who knows, but Helfrich isn't a sure fire home run.

Wow, it's happening a little quicker than I expected..

You didn't just mischaracterize my sentiments you misrepresented my entire take. You claimed I wanted him fired, which I never said. So either you blatantly lied or really struggle to read. As far as my reasoning behind Helfrich over Debord, it's quite simple. Debord's expertise is with the O-line where we already have a coach in place. We had a GA working with the QBs. Hiring Helfrich would eliminate not only the void at the QB coaching position but would force Butch to abandon some of his offensive thinking. I never thought it was Debord's offense. I just new it never was going to change with him as the OC. Not to mention Mahoney is stealing a check and needs to be let go. I don't deflect, I shoot right between the eyes. Must have me confused with someone else on here.

You're saying all this under the impression that Butch only wants to hire friends. You don't know that, yet you pretend you do.

Who cares if Shoop isn't what "he said he is?" Whatever that means...it was mostly Vol fans saying Shoop was God when we hired him. Also doesn't change the fact he and Butch weren't "friends."

And it makes sense to keep Scott because of HC offers? Then why not boot Debord last year and keep Elder as OC since Butch is all about friends?
