Thats no Bueno! Classy move by PSU tho.

As for the rule, lame rule. Guy was coming for a tackle, runner was going down from a last second tackle from behind, there was NOTHING he could do about the trajectory.

He launched and led with his helmet. He shouldn't have been doing that regardless

Oh you are one of those guys? Look at the final season records of every team they beat while be was at Vandy. He did well, sure. But all they did was beat bad teams.

He won 9 games twice and had them 2-1 in bowl games. Goes to PSU and takes them from 7 wins to 11 in two seasons.

He's done more than Butch ever has in less time.

Don't see why people get so defensive when someone comes in here and claims another coach is better than our precious CBJ. It is what it is.

Why have a playoff this year? Bama was head and shoulders better based on the regular season. Giving the lower seeds a shot when their records didn't justify it by comparison is a farce.

He is a very good coach, but you really should look up who he has beaten. He did beat UF, UGA, and UT in one year, and that is fantastic for Vandy. He did feast on some bad competition.

Did you know that the OSU win this year was his first over a ranked opponent at PSU in 2.5 years?

Butch beat USC in year one and also had to play at Oregon and at OU in his first two years. I think it's a different narrative if he plays two lesser teams and can at least get one win.

That said, kudos to Franklin for winning a conference title- something Butch should have played for this year.

I'm familiar with who he's beaten. Those teams have always used Vanderbilt as a punching bag. Talking about bad competition, Vanderbilt was the bad competition. Nine wins there is immensely difficult no matter the competition.

Butch had a chance to be in the double digit win total this season and he didn't acheive it, while PSU has a shot at 12.

I hope Butch finds huge success at UT. I think his controlling nature will prevent him from doing so.

It's all about the people you surround yourself with and how you manage them. That is the current difference between Franklin and Butch.

I think it's fair to point how he did what he did at Vandy (ducked any big non conference game while taking advantage of a down division).

That doesn't make him less of a coach, it's pretty much how you have to pull a school like Vandy out of the ditch. He did it and turned it into the opportunity he has at PSU now. I will definitely say he took away a lot of the doubts I had about him. There's still some, but not many and almost none on the field.
