Is Hurd really going to transfer?

We weren't close to elite. Even healthy. Not close.

I think KMac takes a step. This year. Could be next but I think he takes it. Hoping the younger guys step up.

Alexis Johnson. Vickers. Both those need to step up.

We have got to recruit better at DT.

Vickers was amazing this year. I don't know why he doesn't get more love around here.

I think he gets ultimately gets drafted next year in the 3rd-4th round. He reminds me of former Florida and San Francisco 49ers defensive lineman Ray McDonald.

Vickers is a really good player.

He'd be smart just to declare, but who knows with him. Doesn't seem to make great decisions and honestly I'm not sure whether the kid really likes football as much as the stuff that comes along with jt

Barnett going #11 to New Orleans

Cam - 3rd round
Kamara - 3rd round
JRM - 3rd round

Dobbs - 7th round

That's a doubly bad for us since it likely means LSU really commits to pursuing Ignont.

He increased his TD passes by 12 this season
Completion % increased 3.4%
Averaged 5.5 YPC
Rushed for additional 160 yards, over last year's numbers

And Watson has alot more talent around him especially along the offensive line and at WR/TE.

Give Dobbs those weapons and his numbers are much better.

Well considering the standards most around here have for a "home run hire," you're probably right.

But I think Blackburn could make a very good hire who is a good fit at Tennessee. And fits are really important.

The longer Butch has been the coach here, the more I've felt like culturally, he isn't the best fit in Knoxville. I don't mean that as a knock on Butch so much as just an observation of how much more quickly he seems to be losing the support around him than Dooley did even though he's obviously far, far superior to Dooley in everything except press conferences.

When he was supposedly upset in the middle of the season, I thought they needed to have Malik send Kongbo a picture of one of his game checks. Sounds like he figured it out.

Also interesting that Florida has 4 top 40 picks on that defense leaving. Will be a significant drop off next year between that and their DC leaving IMO

Matt Miller also said he hasn't watched Dobbs at all this season and that scouts like Dobbs more than he does. I wouldn't read too much into this. Its just one man's opinion.

Dobbs will go in the 2nd to 3rd round after he kills it at the senior bowl and combine.

I personally hope he gets drafted by the Arizona Cardinals. Bruce Arians is a great coach. Arizona needs a QB with Carson Palmer getting old. And they have alot of talent on the team.

I could see Dobbs having success like Dak Prescott if he landed on a team like the Cardinals.

I think it matters though. You had people swearing Nissan would be 50% full.

I won't argue that Jones hasn't burned a good deal of equity. He has. I still think he's fairly strongly supported, though.

At this point, I think it's more that the vocal minority is so loud and shrill it leads to the impression the fanbase has their pitchforks out. The #VolTwitter clods (Hughes, Reed, Coonskin Cap, Kress, et al) help support that feeling, as do some of the more angry posters here.

If I had to guess, the majority of people want to see lessons learned and staff improvements rather than an all out change.

Exactly why we needed CMR to stay there forever. If we achieved our ceiling we would have been above him. That's not the case now. Georgia at their best is better than our best. Now we have to hope Kirby can't get them there.

Speaking for myself, I think CBJ has done wonders for our football program. I also stated if fans wanted to have influence it starts with not spending money going to games. I know that is controversial and I was blasted as a negavol. I hope CBJ can turn the corner and get the right coaches on board to take the next step. I also hope he understands that he needs to relax with the cliches and be more relatable.
