I wasn't really down on it. I was just seeing these people talking 11-1 and 12-0 and playoff scenarios and DT was the reason why I thought 10-2 was our ceiling. Granted we caught the breaks to go 11-1 but also caught the injury bug to do worse than 8-4.
I gotcha. Things were definitely thin there. Even minor injury problems would have hurt, and we went way past minor problems.
That would be a really good 3 man front if we had the LBs to go behind them. I think KMack lost too much size, that isn't his game, and I thought SURELY they would put big Charles in a 1 and let him eat up blocks towards the end of the year. Was he injured?
Rock Gullickson enters his seventh season as the strength coach for the Rams. Upon joining the Rams in 2009, Gullickson headed up a dramatic reconstruction of the weight room and shifted the program emphasis to training for power and explosiveness. Gullickson changed the entire layout by creating free weight stations that allow players to move easily from station to station. He also created a team-orientated strength and conditioning program that focused on the shared experience of the program. Emphasis is placed on increasing strength levels with modifications based on specific player needs.
Before joining the Rams, Gullickson occupied a similar position with the Green Bay Packers from 2006-2008. In 2007, Gullickson was named NFL Strength Coach of the Year, an award that is given based on a vote of all 32 strength and conditioning coaches in the NFL.
Soon after his arrival in Green Bay, Gullickson helped restructure the Packers weight room, adding new free weight equipment and adjusting the layout of the conditioning area. Gullickson followed a similar template when he was at Montana State, designing a weight room facility that was a feature of the football program that won the 1984 National Collegiate Division I-AA championship.
Gullickson made his NFL coaching debut in 2000 with the New Orleans Saints, serving as strength and conditioning coach through the 2005 season.
Before joining the Saints, Gullickson spent 22 years as a collegiate coach. His last collegiate stop was at the University of Louisville from 1998-99. Gullickson served as strength and conditioning coach at the University of Texas from 1993-97, working with future NFL players, including Ricky Williams, Priest Holmes and Casey Hampton.
Rock joined the Longhorns after stints at Rutgers (1990-92) and Montana State (1982-89). At Montana State, Gullickson became the first full-time strength and conditioning coach in the history of the Big Sky Conference.
In 1981, Gullickson was named strength coach and weight room instructor at South Dakota State, where he received his masters degree. Gullickson spent two seasons (1979-80) at Mayville State in Mayville, N.D., where he was an assistant football coach, head track and field coach, and strength coach.
A graduate of Moorhead State, Gullickson made his coaching debut at his alma mater as strength coach in 1978. Gullickson was a three-year starter at guard and team captain for the Dragons, earning All-Northern Sun Conference recognition and was an Associated Press Division III All-American in 1977.
A native of Moorhead, Minn., Gullickson is married to Terry.
So let's talk about our soon to be new S&C coach, Hubbs said it'll be announced this week. Reading his bio it sounds like he's got a ton of experience. The last 16 years in the NFL (Rams, Packers, Saints) and before that 22 years in the college ranks.
Couple things I like about him from just a few minutes of research...he was named NFL Strength Coach of the Year in 2007 with the Packers, he has a ton of experience in both college and pro and for being in his 60's he's pretty ripped himself, guy takes his own medicine. My guess is he's looking forward to getting back on a college campus, I think he's going to whip this team in shape and get some of these guys to do a 180 in the weight room.

Haha yeah. Really meant that they'd be out of the playoffs if Carr hadn't done so well. MVP imo.

Who in their right mind that is worth a darn would jump into Jones' sinking ship right now? There will be no staff upgrades.
Good observations. Kongbo helped DB. His effort forced them to play DB straight up much of the game. Personally I want to see him step right into DB's spot. Let Phillips and Taylor fight it out on the other side.
Richmond has control of LT. Some posters on here gave up on him too quickly.
during the 4th qtr of the mcb, the build up to barnett's sack was awesome. he was so close every play, every play. i was on the edge of my seat freaking out, the left tackle was wiffing, holding, false starting. the qb was worse than him. i havent been that pumped when he got it in a long time i went nuts. there was no denying how special it was and that i was witnessing a truly special and beloved vfl making history.
