All of this makes it that much more frustrating to watch when it's obvious Butch has told them to be safe rather than let that dynamic offense run wild. Don't ever throttle it back.

Yep. I think Dobbs was held back too much intentionally for fear of getting hurt, especially early season. It will be interesting to see how it goes next year with two qualified qb's on the team.

From OT against Appy State (when I had to walk out of the house) to the Battle at Bristol (which I attended) to the UF comeback and the Dobbnail Boot to the 5 hour game in College Station and to Dobbs outracing defenders late in the year and now to a bowl win. I will have to say, even though this year had some disappointments, it was probably the season I enjoyed most in a long, long time. It was truly great entertainment.

All i can say is HOW BOUT THEM COWBOY'S, GO VOLS BUCK BAMA and SKIN'S:)

Everyhhing isn't so black and white.

Some of don't want to see Butch end up getting fired AND think the losses were unacceptable, even with the injuries.

The two schools of thought aren't mutually exclusive.

I just don't see how any reasonable person cannot see how injury was the reason for those losses. I said the same after the Vandy game, but having analyzed it for myself, I understand how physical talent notwithstanding, the defense was totally discombobulated by the sheer volume of injury. The effect of simply having too many holes in the dike to plug. I know some names were back on the field for the Vandy game, but it was abundantly obvious to me that Kirkland, Sutton and Foreman were not anywhere close to being ready to play.

The ideal situation for me would be Mahoney retiring, Debord moving to Co-OC/Oline coach and we hire in a solid QB coach. Then make the new QB coach, Gillespie, or Scott the other Co-OC depending on who's the most qualified.

Dominated is a strong word. Michigan's defense got after Francois all night.

FSU was the more talented team, without a doubt. But Michigan held their own.

I think you overlook coaching, teamwork, discipline, etc. a lot in your evaluations of CFB teams. Those intangibles are important. The team with the most talent isn't always the better team.

Dang it! You brung it there. :hi: Nail on the head. We agree more on football things than disagree. Truth! This was what was missing this year for us. Ohio player stated it after that game. He was asked about UT being a great team and mentioned they had great talent but not a very good TEAM. Overall, we saw yesterday what we had seen out of previous CBJ teams.

Way to early '17 predictions?

An optimistic 9-3 if we stay healthy. I think previous recruiting classes and depth pay off next year. Guarantano comes in and balls out. Bituli becomes a star at LB. Kongbo, Taylor, and Phillips match the production of Barnett and Vereen. Kelly does what Kelly does. Evan Berry plays a bigger part on the offense, possibly out of the backfield. Our wr corp surprises people with its production.

Watching this Kentucky vs Georgia Tech game right now and I'm really not looking forward to playing GT next fall. These guys cut block on almost every single play, you're basically guaranteed to lose a DL or two when you play them. Great.

Even if Tuttle is ready by the start of the season, the staff has to really consider not playing him against GTech. I had thought about that when he got hurt.

True.

But $3 million sure would be a nice consolation prize for getting your face caved in on national television.

It would be to me too, but image and legacy are way more important to some people than money. I'm not defined by how other people perceive me. But a lot of people are.

I knew we were in trouble when I saw Latroy Lewis playing tackle either in the Missouri or Vandy game.

I understand what you are saying but not everyone thinks exactly like this who are posting on here who do want him fire. The lows were very low. Meaning Vandy and SC. SC being totally just a horrible game.

I didn't mean that as bad as it sounds. I would love the opportunity to let someone pummel me into oblivion for three million. But I'm nit a world class athlete that wants to be remembered as an all time badass either.
