Im talking about NFL talent being gone. Plus, he is bringing in maybe 1-2 impact players, lots of project players too that will need development. We will be starting a new qb on top of that. It's not a good development for Jones considering he can't win with a veteran team in a craptastic east division

Did someone shiz on your Christmas tree? I've read 4 or 5 of your posts since I've been back in town today and everyone of them is crap! Hate to be this way during the Holidays but don't go away mad, just go away!

I was out of town for three days during Christmas, was in a good mood and come back to this!! I'm out, taking another vacation from here..

I am getting close to throwing my hands up. Not because of Butch but because how they are handling the AD and how they want our money but don't really care about product. Going to wait and see how things play out. They can't continue to assume blind support.

That's why I think Blackburn is a must for AD. We don't need another ad that is more concerned with the bottom line. We don't need an AD that wants to put how financial improvements were done on his resume. We need someone with an emotional investment.

Popcorn Sutton, Jon Reed, Seth Hughes and others have all said this. They think it sends a message that Butch should be fired

Those 3 are the ringleaders of the most annoying section of vol fans on social media.

Not saying they are all bad but that whole group is a weird bunch. They tweet nonstop too.

They are pretty funny though.

These are the same fans that drove off Cuonzo Martin in the middle of a sweet sixteen run. These fans make zero sense to me.

Honestly not sure what spoiled them so much.

Personally I'd love the media to go after elements of our fanbase. They deserve it and I think they are part of the problem

Cuonzo Martin was ran off and THEN the team went on that sweet 16 run. That petition had more to do with that run than Cuonzo Martin did. They were all but fired and had already quit recruiting and that petition lit a fire under the teams collective rear end.

Do other teams have media people scour the internet looking for the most extreme and terrible comments made by any and everyone on fan sites or comment sections and then highlight them like it's a freakin' mass epidemic? Good grief. I'm sure there's a Bama fan saying something worthy of excommunication right now somewhere, but for some reason day in and day out all I see is Tennessee being racked through the mud.

There are about a dozen or so posters on here who get their jollies by blasting Tennessee. We know ho they are and they support each other. Why do the mods not the some action against those trolls?

I've got some news for you. Players will graduate, coaches will get fired, and ADs will retire. The one constant is the fan base. It's not going anywhere, or changing unless it's organically. Best embrace it, because like it or not, it is what it is and it's here to stay.

There we a great deal of post here and on social media about people not spending another dime on Tennessee football this year and some said until Jones was fired. Not sure I would call that a boycott but I can tell you my tailgate on Friday is going to full but only a handful are actually going to the game. The others are standing behind their no more $ spent talk.

5 or 6 people saying something like that fresh off a Vandy loss.

Asking a player about it a month later is stupid. Irresponsible and out of touch question by Parker. The social mob of feet stampers belly aching on twitter don't warrant asking a player about that nonsense.

Maybe he can get a job at 247....

Yep. Cuonzo and the team were auditioning.

I agree. I was just commenting that there are some "fans" not going to the game as some form of a boycott

We aren't in the same place with respect to football but you've been spot on regarding basketball.

Agree. It's irresponsible and nonsensical reporting. Butch should ignore every question from him at the next press conference.

Agreed. I have a friend that grew up with David. They were on the front of the newspaper while carrying the goal post thru the streets of Knoxville. It's not just that he loves UT but he knows what he is doing. Hopefully, she hires him so we don't believe she's the wicked witch coming to kill our program.

YOu beat me to it. You're right. They are funny sometimes but my goodness the negativity

No doubt about that. But that doesn't mean that people can't call out the ridiculous elements of our fanbase. They are ridiculous, after all.

Revisionist history. That was a team loaded with NBA talent that took a while to gel. When it did they put together one of the top 10 or so runs in basketball program history. The ridiculous elements of our fanbase didn't have the patience to see it through.

They hit the panic button after a slow start, raised the petition and then when the team took off, they were forced by their own stupidity to either pull against the team or (crazier yet) take full credit for the run (e.g., we lit a fire!).

Cuonzo was a solid coach and recruiter. I have no idea how he would have done long term but he deserved much better treatment then what he got. He had us in the NCAA hunt all three years - something we haven't done since.
