I made the choice a long time ago to quit listening to Butch but it's obvious he needs to shut up and quit doubling down on dumb. Come on dude, just quit saying stupid stuff. I know he doesn't believe the crap he says. He should know by now that we don't either.

He just can't stand not being able to control the narrative surrounding his team. He needs to learn that he can't do that here if he's not meeting or exceeding expectations.

It makes me wonder if he doesn't have anyone around him who has filled him in on that or if he is just too stubborn to accept it.

As I read these last comments, in summary I think we can all agree with this:

We all wish he wasn't such a robot. BUT: Butch has flipped the roster. He has beaten Florida. He works his tail off.

All of those things make his shortcomings and unwillingness to adapt all the more frustrating.

Hopefully we can get Blackburn in here ASAP and his guidance and leadership can help Butch get over the hump in regards to those shortcomings.

I won't argue that the roster isn't better than when he got here - that's a given. But I think our talent peaked this year and declines steadily next year.

What? Consensus building on Butch in the RF? How long will that last? My best guess is it will either grow exponentially by 7:30 PM ET Thursday, or, digress into verbal warfare.

FWIW - I agree with the consensus regardless of the outcome of the bowl game. The career defining season for Butch is 2017. The trajectory indicators will be the recruiting class this cycle and any post bowl game coaching changes. Blackburn being named is a huge positive for the program regardless of the future of Butch.

I don't get why the have Rucker anymore. They brough on another basketball guy.

If Rucker covered football the way he does basketball and stopped trying win twitter fights with trolls I think he would be halfway decent.

I hate him most of the time but I'll follow him during basketball season after football is completely over

Agree.

Although I will say that when you ain't winning enough it doesn't matter what you say. When you are winning you can overcome almost anything.

Butch works his tail off. That's one thing I absolutely love about him. He wants it. He lives it. And he gives every ounce of energy to making us a winner. That part about him I will always love.

This is where I circle around to a guy like Butch needing a strong boss working with and above him.

He needs someone to help channel that nervous energy into more positive areas. Someone to help take over the narrative so Jones doesn't feel he has to. Hart was a hatchet man brought in to do some dirty work and not really the constructive criticism, molding/mentor type.

Obviously Blackburn would be ideal because he knows this school, this fanbase, this area so well...But I think any competent manager should be able to do that.

I hope Shy can get heathy but I'm thinking redshirt next year.

I would MUCH rather him RS than have a repeat of this year. I also am glad Alexis Johnson RS this year. I know I'm in the minority there, but looking toward the future it is a good thing.
