Just finished off a bottle of 20 year the other day. Been on a waiting list for another for 3 years.
Not gonna lie, Pappy is ok, but there are much better bourbons for a fraction of the price, Blantons, Bulleit, Knob Creek to name a few.

Read something yesterday saying Casey Clausen was pretty tight/friends with some of the Nebraska staff, but would of course be rooting for UT during the bowl game... it briefly touched on the fact he is a head coach of a high school out in Cali and it has become a bit of a recruiting pipeline for Nebraska... said a 4* QB and 4* WR from his team were headed to Nebraska this year... Wonder if Butch has ever reached out to try and develop a Cali connection there? Would seem pretty stupid not too, so surely he has...

There's an old saying in the media world, "never pick a fight with someone who buys ink buy the barrel." I hate it but it's true. The press has all the power and very few people have any clue just how powerful they really are. When I worked as a reporter, I got the lesson of a lifetime when I heard a Judge speak to county commission and literally say the words I'd written about an issue almost verbatim when appealing an issue in front of commission.

And that was far from an isolated case in terms of seeing the impact directly. When I made my first and only factual error in an article it was a very small error involving tiny part of a larger report that really wasn't on something that most people would care about but the politicians involved told me they heard from constituents. I also made sure a correction was run and made sure the correction got prime space and became super careful about fact checking and fact checking again even the tiniest things.

The influence media has is simply immense even though very few are aware of it and will deny being influenced by it (we all want to think we aren't influenced by what we read and watch but every single one of us are to some degree or another even those of us who are aware of that influence, it's just human nature as we've evolved to be social creatures that absorb the information presented to us by others as survival often depended on it in most of our existence).

This is all why Jones needs to devote some time to being better with the media. There are strategies he could take that would allow him to still be him and say the things he wants to say without taking so much heat from them. It's all in the way things are presented.

He's gotta start by getting past the need for external affirmation. He's got daddy issues and doesn't take criticism very well. The rest is a symptom.

It very well could be that they're simply giving Blackburn time to hire folks at his current school. Remember, UT is a university system not an individual UT which is unlike many other setups around the country. Every UT campus is essentially governed under an umbrella when it comes to the higher levels. UTK is obviously the flagship but each campus whether it's UT-Martin, UTC, or the Space Institute, to name a few, falls under the UT umbrella. And from the inside I can tell you that UTK has always stressed respect for other UT campuses.

While most fans tend to think there's only one UT and that the other campuses are different entities altogether (and they are indeed unique in many aspects), UTK and the UT system as a whole is seen as a single entity at the higher levels of governance. Although Alabama is likewise a system setup in name unlike the UT system we would never do to our non-flagship campus what Bama tried to do to UAB. That's not to say UTK doesn't get preferential treatment because a flagship we do and it's important for the whole system that the flagship does well.

tl;dr - The UT system protects the whole/each campus where it can. And with UTC being one of the more known and larger UT campuses as well as one with a good athletic program, the system won't go out of their way to screw them.

This is off topic and I know a few of you have discussed it before.

I'm looking to dump TWC. They raised my price and will not come back down. I've spent the last few hours talking to various supervisors and they all tell me the same BS. I just want to stay at the same rate they've given me for the past few years. However, they said they don't do that anymore and basically told me to pay the new price or take a walk.

My brother-in-law has Sling. We know a guy who has something called Fire Stick Jailbreak, or something like that. Anyone have any thoughts on these or any alternatives. TIA

PS Vue is very very good if you have a PS4. Down side is, most places don't get local stations

I bought a $ 35 outdoor antenna from Amazon and I get 34 local channels. I live 25 miles from closest station and 45 miles from most distant station. Best move I ever made. I use Sling TV during football season for 27.75 per month for orange package with sports add on. Sling Tv also comes with access to WatchESPN.
