I am not about ruining a man's life. I also believe in second chances. I think it's sad that in sports if a man makes a mistake he's blackballed by fans and media and isn't given any more opportunities. None of us are perfect, not even close. But we like to be a talking head on Tv and act as tho we are and condemn a guy and try to keep him from ever working again because he made a horrible decision in a matter of 5 seconds.
But here's the thing with Mixon: he was not punished at all. That's the problem here. Mixon was redshirted and faced no discipline. What this reveals is that OU, Stoops and the AD up there care more about winning ball games than they do about disciplining their players. Would love to see how different the situation with the frat boys would have been had they been football players. Bet they wouldn't have been expelled. Everyone involved in this decision should all be fired imo. Mixon should have been kicked off the team and had to go Juco route and earn his way back to elite football. You just don't do something like this and not face any punishment at all. Has this happened at TN Butch would have been burned at the stake already.
True, but this clown wouldn't have played a down after this in a CBJ coached program.
