'17 MS RB Cam Akers (FSU commit 12/27)

If it truly down to those two I definitely like our chances. Distance is roughly the same to Knoxville and Tallahassee. 443 miles to Tallahassee vs 502 miles to Knoxville. Roughly 7 to 7.5 hours respectively. Also, FSU doesn't have Gillespie. RB coach who is from right down the road from Akers' home town. Yeah. I'll take our chances with that setup.
The FSU brand is light years ahead of us at the moment.

We all know how he thinks of CRG but what has he said about his relationship with other RB/HC coaches

And FSU has 2 other highly rated rb commits

- 247 (Newberg)

This article was published last night. Not a surprise a couple more CBs came in for FSU this morning. They are just rolling with Newberg's guess since he didn't change it as of last night.

Newberg clearly thinks FSU has the best chance noting that Cook is headed to the NFL and Fisher and Graham having lots of success with RBs as the two biggest selling points. He thinks Ole Miss and LSU are longer shots mainly due to their OC situations and Ole Miss' NCAA investigation. He also thinks Ohio State is likely out of the race due to distance and because Meyer did not do an in-home visit with Akers. I think this is all good news for UT.

My initial takeaway from the Newberg article was Akers is an FSU lean and he may in fact be. That being said, if your Akers and family and you are closely reviewing the rosters then Tenn clearly offers the best opportunity.

Assuming both Dalvin Cook and Alvin Kamara leave for the NFL: Both TENN and FSU have additional RBs on their rosters that are not ranked by 247

TENN VS. FSU Comparison
FSU:
-Dalvin Cook leaving for the NFL
-FSU still has on the roster:
1. ****Jacques Patrick .9821 Composite
2. ****Ryan Green .9740 Composite
3. **** Amir Rasul .9142 Composite
4. *** Johnathan Vickers .8697 Composite
-FSU commits for 2017:
1. ****Khalan Laborn .9794 Composite
2. ****Zaquandre White .9347 Composite
TENN:
-Alvin Kamara leaving for the NFL
-TENN still has on the roster:
1. ****Carlin Fils-Aime .9005 Composite
2. ***John Kelly .8665 Composite
-TENN commits for 2017:
1. ****Ty Chandler .9628 Composite
2. ***Trey Coleman .8610 Composite

I feel like you need to get this analysis in his hands somehow.

Top players generally aren't intimidated by depth charts but I mean... wow. Come to TN and earn your touches. Depth chart clearly looks better at TN for early playing time.

JAV on 247 says we are not getting Akers as of right now, but things could change. He thinks FSU leads.

Dear gracious man. Do I need to post evidence that FSUs program is WAAAAY ahead of ours now?

I mean come on it's obvious
