That Wiedmer article is mostly semantics. UT was never going to have the "official" talks with Blackburn until after December 15. They will follow protocol and approve the Chancellor first. The plan has been to announce the AD before Christmas, with the official transition on January 1. There are still internal politics in play, however, so the sooner the MOU is in place, the better.

The Crowder 5 are looking for work if you need some "internal politics" handled. EazyTD is in witpro right now so they have some free time.

Are they trying to have an MOU in place before Dec. 15th? Or after? I don't know how this stuff works.

Also, do you think the coaches and their backing of Gilbert (if it is true) will have a huge affect on how the AD hire plays out?

Florida's DC just left for Temple HC position. May see some decommits from UF.

I would be worried if I was a UF fan. They'll have some decent players back, but the stars and production of that defense will be gone next year. Now, they have to find a quality DC.

What happened to HG? I'm sure he is about ready quit football. Both his teams have lots of ???'s

I stay out of politics, myself. But the Gilbert Gang and the Crowder 5 has that Crips and Bloods ring to it.

According to Callahan, the following is the list of our top 10 remaining recruiting targets:

Here’s a look at 10 of the top players remaining on Tennessee’s wish list for the 2017 class, taking into consideration the Vols’ positional needs, their chances of landing each prospect and the players’ skill sets.

- Cam Akers
- TJ Moore
- LaBryan Ray
- Jaylen Harris
- Keisean Nixon
- Travis Etienne
- Matthew Butler
- Yusuf Corker
- Will McBride
- Aaron Sterling

Tennessee Vols' 10 most wanted remaining targets in the 2017 class

Note that this list is the top 10 as of today. Things will likely change over the next 2 months.

With this mind, I'm guessing we should hopefully get an official AD announcement between Mon., 12/19 and Fri., Dec. 23. Guess it could be before Monday, but I doubt UT would want to bury the news over the weekend.

That should allow time for "official" interviews, approval, and MOU signing.

These are the ones I'm going to say we pull.

I'm sure the parties have discussed terms and may have agreed in principle on deal points, but they won't proceed legally until after the Chancellor is approved. The Chancellor could get involved or she could go along with the majority.

UT would like to have the MOU in place next week for a pre-Christmas announcement. The Chancellor could delay this, however. Even though she's not officially on board yet, the admin wants her to have a voice in the decision and feel comfortable with the outcome.

Good list, interesting no Wade or Felix.

I think we've moved on from Wade. I think it is clear at this point we either prefer Corker, or the staff thinks we have a better shot at Corker. IMO, it's both.

I think Felix is a back-up option at this point. The list was the top 10 "want" or wish list. Cam Akers is clearly the RB we want. Apparently, a week ago, we were going after Felix very hard. I think our situation has improved greatly with Akers since then; moreover, we have yet to see what impact Taggart's hire at Oregon has made on his recruitment. Per most of Felix's interviews, he has always favored Oregon and has been a fan of theirs since he was a kid.

So we're looking pretty solid on around 4 of the 10, with a puncher's chance at a few others?

I think Nixon, Corker, and Moore are the most likely to end up at UT on the list.

I think Sterling and Ray are long shots.

The other five are in that middle ground. A lot will change in 2 months, so I think that group of five is more fluid.

This seems to be the case.

Torrance Gibson is going JUCO. Dig up the old threads, lets do this again!

I was thinking those three plus Butler. In the end, IDT we'll pull Akers or Ray... but not counting us out.
