SpringBokVol, are you hearing about momentum for Gilbert also? Please tell me Basilio is way off here. Tennessee is honestly going to eff this hire up before our eyes. After the Vanderbilt loss I thought people had wised up that Butch needs help not some buddy in the AD who doesn't challenge him.

No. I heard Blackburn is all but announced.

But things can and do change.

2.5 years for Kiffin at FAU

Over or under - what you got?

Over. I think he had to get this, because no one would take him. I also think the other schools coaches will hurt him. Not just fsu and UF but now Miami with Richt, usf with Strong and Butch Davis is down there. He has to build it and then win with all that.

1)That's just not true, if UK constantly won 8 or 9 games a season they would never fire their head coach
2) we didn't "spot" an 8-year learning curve but yeah it does take time to build a roster to a point where winning the SEC can be a reasonable expectation. Butch is now at that point and so now he has a 3-4 year window to prove he can or can't do it.

It's not that I'm happy with 8 wins, it's what performance would get Butch fired. If Butch gets 8 or 9 wins next year he's not getting fired, and he goes into 2018 on a hot seat where it's SECCG or damn near close and he's gone.

I just don't agree. If CBJ hits an 8-win ceiling for the third year in a row and fails to make it to ATL again, a lot of people who give a lot of money to UT will be very vocal about wanting him gone. It's time-- past time-- to win the SECE. Not winning this year depleted his surplus of tolerance and goodwill.

Wouldn't surprise me. It sounds like we have 0 leadership with absolute morons running the show for the past 10 years. It's actually really sad

agree but at some point you have to start blaming the big donors because they are as much a part of this as anyone else

I agree and those same donors need to start making some serious noise about the new AD hire....

He got a three and a half year honeymoon. That's pretty long these days.

I see your point, and I wouldn't be crying if he does get let go next year for another 8 win season. I also don't like how the coaching market looks next year so I would hope they at least gauge interest from some top-level guys before making the decision so we don't end up firing him and then ending up with our 5th choice(again)
