If you believe Brent, LWSVOL, Brice, Chris Lowe, and a few others, Butch's agent was shopping Butch around to a number of programs including Purdue and Houston among others. If you don't think those guys are credible then OK.
False.... Sexton isn't out pushing Saban's name to other schools for more money. Also, had Butch not lost to USC and Vandy and had won the A&M game, he would have been given the keys to the castle.... Dude failed even though he said his system is "championship caliber." His stock on the downtrend and Tennessee isn't his dream job. He wants to be an NFL coach.

He must of been bucking for a raise last week, hope it fell on deaf ears. Knowing the history of the UTAD he'll probably get a million dollar raise and a lifetime contract out of the deal...
There was something going on. That plane didn't fly itself to Purdue last week..
I think this is true, If Butch is 8-4 next year without winning the east and is let go like a lot of insiders have said, his resume isn't as good as if he heft on his own, problem is no one wants him. This year was a fail for Butch. There is only one issue with this. Butch leaving now would save himself in the long run. If we finish at 9-4 or 8-5 this year and go 8/9 wins next year with no SEC East Title, his stock will damage even worse. Because he will be seen as the guy who can't get it done at Tennessee in the poor division. That hurts him more coaching at a big program than just leaving and saying our fan base is irrational and being labeled "wasn't up to the challenge" by our fans. Which I am totally apart of...
If he was 10 years older, you definitely don't walk away from that buyout if you get fired. However, he has NFL ambitions and those hopes are cratering day by day.
This thread starts with a legitimate question..."Any chance Butch checks out Cincy?"
The next few posts don't deal in absolutes...ex: he "might" be looking...I "doubt" he will leave...
And then RV drops his knowledge with this little gem.
This completely changes the dynamic of the thread. It's insulting (dumb rearing its ugly head) and condescending.
RV is not interested in a discussion. He's only interested in forcing the absolutes of his own tiny world. He doesn't want you to share your speculation, but he wants to share his.
RV doesn't know. He should probably stop acting like he does.
Tubberville resigned, any chance Butch kicks the tires at Cincinnati?
Do I believe agents try to angle their client in a manner to get them more $? Absolutely. Dumbo Fishers agent at FSU does it every year with LSU. And one year Dumbo's agent even used UT.
Agents get paid on a % basis of their clients salary.
DO I THINK FOR ONE SECOND BUTCH WANTS TO LEAVE UT? Not even close. In spite of the minority of idiots here, he loves UT.
If Butch really thinks the fans have unrealistic expectations then he should leave for a few reasons:
1) They aren't unrealistic and that has been proven by CPF
2) They aren't going to change
3) He's admitting in a roundabout way that he can't reach them
Also, most fans expectations for this year was to win the east, which was more than attainable. Him not doing so in a year where he had the most talented team in the east and the 2nd most talented team in the SEC is alarming.
Losing to SCAR and Vandy is unacceptable, and even worse when there is so much on the line. Twice he failed when it mattered the most. That says a lot. Even CJM was able to rally he troops when he had to, and most would agree that he isn't a great coach, but he has managed to snag the east 2 years in a row with a team that has zero offensive ability.
Butch is already stressed out and ran into the ground, next year will push him over the edge.
Reader is using common sense, that's all. Some of you want to believe anything negative you hear. Remember "weapons of mass destruction", whatever happened to common sense. Sure, CBJ is probably upset that fandom is making fun of him, but he isn't going to quit over it. Would you?
And how in the world do any of you know what Butch is thinking. In the above posts it seems you can all read his thoughts!
