I don't necessarily agree that we need Tennessee guys, but I get your point.

If I had to choose between Butch picking his boss and blowing up Neyland Stadium, I would have a tough decision to make.

Blackburn has a knack for hiring winners that exceeds expectations. That's not good for a guy that's always going to leave a few games on the table every year.

He's made Chat a winner at about everything down there.

Some may see it as an opportunity to save a sinking ship and then use that as leverage to jump to a better job. Happens all the time and there are folks that seek out those type of opportunities as a chance to quickly advance their career.

Yes it is a gamble - but there is just as good a chance that Tennessee does really well next year as there is a chance they have another similar season as this one. It will all be dependent on whether the QB's in waiting are really as good as folks think they are.

Interesting and I guess it is all legal and is just a matter of having the money to do this.

UTC has always been good at most sports even prior to the current AD.

This is why I mentioned previously that Butch knowing DB most likely being the man would motivate him to have his agent put 'feelers' out..

Unfortunately, and it tells you a lot about Butch, nobody wants him.

Blackburn loves UT and thats enough for me. If he gets financial backing he would have opportunities.

I don't think we always need Tennessee guys but right now, in our current situation, I think we need someone with big orange blood. I think a lot of our issues is becaus we've had Bammers and Gators running the show. Don't trust their motives. JMO

he has known Gilbert much longer than Blackburn. Gilbert # 2 man to Hart so sure they have worked together quite a bit. Gilbert actually hired Barnes

LWS, please tell me you are hearing David Blackburn because if Tennessee gives Jon freaking Gilbert the keys we are finished. Hell, he has never even run an athletic department and he doesn't deserve this job. And Butch is in no position to be choosing his boss right now, in fact he damn well needs someone above him to try and right this ship ASAP. Same goes for Barnes. Gilbert is just Hart 2.0

It would restore some faith in the administration for sure. Hoping this is what happens and Blackburn is hired very soon. I also hope that no interest from other schools in Butch causes him to take a good look in the mirror and make some major changes in how he does things, because his decisions in the offseason is the main reason we are not excited about tomorrow's championship game. I firmly believe that. I hope he can turn it around for all our sakes but he needs guidance and he needs to be smart enough to listen. His ego in the last few weeks should be brought down several notches, let's hope he responds in a good way.
