All the "Fire Butch" threads but no answer

finally, someone with a decent amount of football knowledge and understanding

I think most (at least I can speak for myself) think he will be here next year, but hate that because of contract and other factors such as not having an AD currently he will.

We are just tired and frustrated with being in this situation.

We want to win our bowl game and if he is back next year like I think he will hope he wins it all and proves us doubters wrong, but he has not given reason to think that will happen and again that is frustrating!

Give me a name?
Everyone knew Saban wanted back in NCAAA.
Meyer was without a job and OSU is a top 5 job.
Harbough is a Michigan man and is paid twice as much as we have ever paid.

So, tell us who is out there?

Willie Taggart
Mike MacIntyre
Dan Mullen
Jeff Brohm
Brent Venables
Pat Fitzgerald

Sounds like you don't live in reality.

Reality is that we lost to South Carolina and Vanderbilt in a year we were supposed to win the east. And due to a total lack of discipline we gave a game away at aTm.

Then we sustained the greatest beat down of series history to Alabama.

And that is with two top ten recruiting classes on board. You would think that with a great recruiter that we would have depth to put an average SEC defense on the field. But due to at least 25 players leaving the program and a lack of player development we are depleted. Thus, giving up record numbers of rushing yards against teams in the bottom half of the SEC.

But my biggest disappointment is not having a dominant offensive line in your 4th year. This is a line is scrimmage league and this coach just does not get it. Vandy ran through our OL last night like it was air.

NOW, that is reality. Welcome back to mediocrity.

First he has shown you Tn makes money and other poster proved it with point about all the millions of dollars being invested into the stadium!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Second you still have not given your solution or if do you not care if compete for championships? (other than champions of life that is)

Also I and I would think others would not care about clichés and slogans if he just won... some would probably like them if he won.

Refute those facts then. I am geniuely curious as to why you and some others feel like Tennessee is this mid level school thay has no money.

*crickets*

I guess he does not have answer... go figure

Fleck is no different than the other 20 or so up and comers that have been hired in the SEC in the last 10 years and not one of them has worked out. In fact, it's about equivalent to hiring Butch when he was at Central Michigan.

Okay, continue to watch talented player underachieve and play poorly coached and be happy while doing so.

Stoops doing okay, Mason doing okay both with less talent that UT can pull. Sumlin has fielded pretty good teams, Freeze has done okay before this year, Mullin has done okay before this year. McElwain done pretty good.

I think Gary Sinise would look pretty cool on the sidelines. I can imagine a player screwing up in a game and Coach Sinise doesn't say a word but gives him this look:

2 of the 3 he named has losing records at much lower schools.
Mullen is a good coach.

That's because Taggart and MacIntyre took over awful programs where it took a few years to get it going. Taggart has turned around Western Kentucky and South Florida. MacIntyre won double digit games at San Jose St and Colorado. Both are terrific coaches and would be terrific hires.

I think most people know the landscape right now. The blowback right now is simply a reaction of how the season ended.

The truth is there is it any better coaches available, and I don't know that we would Lure any away. it's also true that we have a lame duck athletic director that is not going to fire CBJ, nor is he going to hire a new coach as a new athletic director is going to be higher next year.

So butch is here, he's not going anywhere and we get to stay in football purgatory.

THAT HAS TO BE THE HARDEST READ I'VE SEEN IN A WHILE. And Yes; I was yelling. My English Teacher would Flip out. Sorry; just being real.

News flash... UT was an awful program when Jones took over.

If we're going that route I cast my vote for Remember the Titans Denzel Washington.

I think CBJ is done, but if Briles is the only option, id rather go 7-5 every year.

Again, not saying he is only choice. OP asked for the name of a better coach who is available. Art Briles is available. He is a proven coach with a better record. Not saying we hire him. Just proving a point.

Spot on. I know Butch will be here next year. The reason I know this is because we will bring in a new AD. I seriously hope and wish Butch proves all of us who are criticizing him wrong. All of us fans want to win and want Tennessee back to winning championships. And if Butch were to bring us one, I would gladly admit my errors and eat multiple bowls of crow. At this point though, I just dont see it happening.
