All the "Fire Butch" threads but no answer

Reader I don't think you get it.

It's over for Butch. This has 2012 Dooley written all over it next year. Why wait for the inevitable.

Most of the coaches anyone could come up with are better options than Butch. His absolute BEST roster with his handpicked assistants and a favorable schedule and environment in his division still produced a sub-par 8-4 season. IT WILL GET NO BETTER.

I have faith in us pulling a better coach if we make it clear that we're willing to pay Harbaugh/Saban bucks.

No you don't get it. We don't have the $ to pay Harbaugh/Saban money. You and the other knee jerkers throw other people's money around like it's just numbers. The money isn't there yet.

Chip Kelly, for one.

There are multiple threads about other solutions. No idea why OP and others are acting like we haven't offered solutions.

Truthfully until the AD is hired it's hard to tell who would be on the board. Progress has been made however when threads like these pop up.

I support my team and the coaches are part of my team. I want them to be successful. Period.
Those of you who are giddy over the situation are sad.

Who is "giddy over the situation"?

Last I checked the reason people are saying these things are because they are mad and tired of losing to bottom half of conf. teams. Tired of not competing for SEC championships and a coach that apparently now backs away from the expectations of competing for SEC championships when he said "you did not hear that from me" comment!

I supported him, thought we would surely win the east and make playoffs before season.

I hope we win our bowl game.

I do not think he is a championship coach, but I guess you are ok with that if he is not?

It is up to new AD (prob. next year I admit) to find the "who you going to get" and do it right like other Athletic Directors have of coaches that went on to win conf. like Penn St when hired Franklin. for example.

The solution ultimately is 13 months out.

Butch will either bounce back and do something he's not shown to be capable of doing, or he'll be what he's shown to be, and this will resolve itself then.

These discussions server no purpose other than therapy for all involved.

All that I see you do is speculate in here and take the contrarian angle for the sake of debate.

You'd offered nothing besides "nuh-uh" repeatedly.

I'm sure we'll have these arguments again come next offseason or November, because I don't think the university pulls the trigger on anything.

To answer your original question for the 3rd or 4th time. 75% of any staff in America would be an improvement at this point. He is a lame duck coach with a program running on fumes for 2017.

My question to any potential hire would be: "When is it ok to kick a 58 yard field goal with a kicker who has never hit beyond 47 in game?"

There are plenty who are giddy as a school girl over the opportunity to say "see I told ya so".

No one has named a better coach that is available or that we could get.
Not some damned pipe dream that won't happen. An AD damned sure better have a coach locked down before they fire an 8 win coach.
And for those who say we need an AD who will "pony up the money". You have no clue. That's not how it works. The AD is far from the only one who is involved in the financial end of this.

Art Briles.

If you don't like Jones you won't like Fleck. He makes Jones look like a rookie when it comes to slogans and cliches.

The cliches and coach speak are not what bothers me never really have.. The reason I am confident that Butch can not have any sustained championship level success is his pathetic personnel decisions and game management.. I have felt this way in the back of mind from the beginning but my heart really wanted the man to succeed.. All these stupid notions that there are not any more capable football coaches than what we have hired the last 2 time that would love to be at the helm of a top 10 winningest program is just that ..STUPID. They will not work for an incompetent administration.. That has been the reason for this decade plus of dysfunction within all of UT Athletics

How do you know Kelly is available? He turned down offers to come back to NCAA ball last couple years. From PAC 12 schools too.

Well, he's 1-10 following his first nfl failure. The odds are pretty good.

He's not the only option, either.
