What all coaching changes do you think will arise over the off season and do you think these will occur before or after the bowl game?
First of all I think butch will be back next year however, What do you think is the percent that does happen?
And obviously it's early but if butch is back what is a realistic record expectation?

Brice's answer
I think most would occur post-bowl game unless some vacancies prompt opportunities for some Vols assts sooner.
I would be quite surprised if CBJ is not back next year, from the viewpoint of both sides.
I think there's a mandate on 9-3, 10-2 likely next year or something similar that includes an SEC East title.

Will shoop be back?

50/50, IMO. Shoop has been a finalist for that Delaware job, and I know if he does remain it's very likely he will bring in some help on the defensive side of the ball.

He also said he could see Martinez going to Miami.

Mullen and PJ Fleck on Houston's short list. Mullen also on Oregon's short list, if/when Helfrich is fired. Brian Kelly's agent is putting feelers out to the NFL.

Brice's answer

I just don't think that type of mandate is healthy for anyone, especially in a transitional year. Obviously things unfolded differently in November 2016, but if you described that type of mandate in January 2016, I think most would say "Yeah, that's doable."

Now you have to contend with a potential mass replacement of coaches, the graduation of legit difference makers, and an unhappy HC- especially in light of a mandate.

I know we may end up being stuck with each other, but those type situations never end well.

I hope Shoop stays and has freedom to hire who he wants. Shoop is better than this. He was top 3 grades DCs in the country. You don't just forget how to coach defense over night. There is more to it than that

Assuming butch is back next year what do y'all think a realistic record is?

Georgia Tech in ATL W
Indiana Stata W
@Florida L
UMass W
Georgia L
USCe W
@ Alabama L
@ Kentucky W
Southern Miss W
@ Missouri W
LSU L
Vanderbilt W

EDIT: GT is a toss up though. Obviously can't count Vandy or USCe as a sure win either.

Houston an upgrade over MSU?

It is over Starkville for sure.

But yeah, I was surprised to see that as well. I figured if Mullen would leave, it would be something definitively better...like an Oregon.

If those are the caliber of coaches Houston is looking at though, I don't really see them having much interest in Butch.

Now Butch could go to ND and justify it as a dream job or move up. I don't think ND would want him though

We have the roster to beat UGA and UF, so I'd say we at least split

I just wanna give props to Josh Malone...he has quietly had a pretty damn good year. Has improved tremendously

Dobbs has honestly had a great year as well.

If somebody told me pre-season that he would post stats of:

2,655 yards passing, 26 TDs, 12 INTs, 63.3% completion

and

713 yards rushing, 9 TDs

through 12 games, I would definitely think we were going 10-2 or 11-1.
