Ready for a laugh?

I told my Girlfriend that most of us want Butch gone &a this was her response.

It's not his fault that the players don't know how to play they are just running around sucking d!ck instead of listening to him.. granted she's a Alabama fan it still made my morning better.

That was a red flag. Yeah we caught it and discussed it but damn he checked out. His demeanor on the sideline showed his give a damn is busted.

Exactly, Butch railed on and on about how his accomplishments have been "minimized". Butch acts like a spoiled 20-something who always needs praise and is never wrong. In fact he's "minimizing" our program right before our eyes!

The road is at a dead end. Question is who do we get/hire.

College football is changing and becoming the NFL we're coaches get recycled and recycled. Not sure anybody we hire is gonna work or take us to the next level. What coach is going to want to come here with no AD in place. Maybe another year of 8-4 is what we get next year

Also Butch can't leave who would be banging down the door to hire him. Not anyone in the right mind would take him at this point. We/he has no choice but to stay together 1 more year

Butch has to be gone.

Cleaning house won't work. What reputable coaches will join him knowing he's on the hot seat and for sure gone with another mediocre season.

I think quite a few mid major teams would love to have him. Could definitely see a team like South Florida taking him if Taggart moves on.

This x1,000. It's the same story we heard from those who wanted to give Dooley a 3rd season. What did that get us, or him? Most of the good that Jones has done in his time here could be quickly undone with a mediocre recruiting class in 2017 and a bad class in 2018, which seems to be exactly where we're headed. Once the roster is depleted, you can forget about successful power 5 coaches coming here even the ones with a taint. If things get sideways, we'll be back to trolling the Sun Belt for a hfc this time next year. Personally, I don't think it's worth the risk but it's not my job to make the call.

I think the only way to salvage this is with money. If you really plan on giving Butch a legitimate shot to right the ship, you micromanage him. Tell him to get rid of the offensive staff minus Gillespie. Let shoop hire whomever he wants. Make one last attempt. Otherwise cut bait.

You can't keep Gillespie, what's the new offensive coordinator wants him need to let those guys bring in who they want as part of their team, now he is a damn good coach but you need to let the coordinators pick who they want to work underneath them
