This is why everyone will never be happy. 75% of the board or more is mad that Butch doesn't directly address the issues then he addresses something directly and here is this reply.

Issues?

Sure a small faction of the fan base dislikes him. The overwhelming majority likes the direction of the program. That's not an issue IMO. No answer there would have been the route to take.

He's fishing for a raise. I get it.

But, but, but I thought we were supposed to go 12-0 or 11-1 every year and Butch isn't living up to program standards?

I finally watched the press conference and it seems (to me) to be totally blown out of proportion--like everything else the man does.

He did mention that he had plans to do something special for those kids who were in the Chattanooga bus wreck at the Spring game. Reading between the lines, I would think that means he plans to stay.

Some players are tired of Debord and his play calling. Wouldn't be surprised to see a change there. Oline and play calling (at times) have been awful. Both of those issues need to be addressed.

Very seldom have we only lost two or less games. That puts it in perspective.

Even though the East is down, our schedule is not like "the others". For years, we always tend to play the National Champion or at least a runner up or two..:crazy:

LOL. I like Butch. Just wish he knew what to say when. Begging people to recognize his work is not a good look imo.

I imagine the recent 50+ point outbursts have been wearing thin on their collective patience.

I don't know. When you want a raise, you drop hints about other suitors. You don't suggest that you're unhappy where you are - not in a job where the outward appearance of stability is so important.

I don't like this. It's a bad look to recruits. It shines a negative light on fans (deserved or not; not the point) and introduces doubt that he'll be coaching them long-term. Fans are spoiled and fickle - I don't dispute that - but sometimes it makes more sense to just keep your mouth shut. He won't change the mindset of the fanbase with words, so why try?

Looks like a 6th child has passed away resulting from injuries in the bus crash in Chattanooga. So sad.

Prayers going up for everyone involved.

That isn't the expectation every year but when you are as talented as this roster was coming in and as weak as our Divison was 3 losses was one too many for his season. Each year has its own set of expectations. Looking at how team has played all year is the most concerning issue. If we were clicking every single game and had one slip up that's different but team was messy until the last 3 games

Saying the division is weak then saying 3 losses doesn't add up. We handled the division minus the one "slip up" - a game everyone except Bama has every year. Now, if all three losses were to the east then that'd be a major problem.

This came from someone that would know. Player had two td in the last game and he and other players are still tired of him. The level of opponent the past couple weeks hasn't exactly been a good way to judge Debord.
