Gruden would rack up the recruits but he would really have to simplify his offense for the college game. Like you say he has been out of coaching so long that I don't see him getting back into it and dealing with it.

LSU is average at best on offense outside of RB. Our initial 2 deep was as good as anyone outside of Bama on defense.

There you go again. You may want to look up straw man arguments. They may look familiar.

I've never said Butch "sucks" at his job. Currently I think he's a good but not great coach. Do I think it's possible that he makes the jump to the next level? Yes. Likely? Maybe not because he's pretty stubborn and doesn't like to look outside the family, but I think he should get another season or two to keep improving.

OFC nothing can be said with 100 percent certainity, but from what I've seen from Gruden when he was a HC at Oakland and Tampa, he took both teams to the playoffs and won a Super Bowl with Tampa with a terrible QB (Trent Dilfer)

Considering the history of both teams's past performances in the NFL, it was a impressive feat.

He didnt have any college HC experience but had several years as an assistant so he has some idea of what it is like and what it would take at the college level. Just ask the current head coach at Michigan who worked under him.

His last year was 2008, but it's not like he walked away and started cleaning pools. He's been around the game.

There's a reason why people want him to come to UT.

Rumors floating that he is upset/mistreated.

Now rumors floating he will have interest in ND.


He's going to get a raise and extension here soon.

Yep, this is how the game is played. Hubbs getting in on it just verifies that. He only says what the coaches tell him to say.

Has anybody had the stones to purchase Sugar Bowl tickets yet? I was winning an auction on eBay for 2 SECCG tickets and just got outbid with 2 hours left. I'm not going to lie, I was sweating it out.

I'm super worried about recruiting & the worry is compounded since our coaching staff can't develop talent to save their lives.

Only the RB & DL positions can say that there has been sufficient improvement & development. WR maybe.

I'd wait on that until the after the Vandy game. That game has me worried. Win that and the bowl game and I think he gets both.

Win Vandy game and lose bowl, think he only gets a raise.

Lose both remaining games, zilch.

I had StubHub dialed up ready to pull the trigger for the SECCG until LSU lost their minds on the goal line.

I will be in the Dominican Republic. Won't be able to see the game.

Assuming Bama goes to the playoffs...

Sugar Bowl: Highest ranked SEC team vs highest ranked Big12

Citrus Bowl: 2nd Highest ranked SEC team vs Big10

IF we get past Vandy, and either 1) Barn loses to Bama, and 2) FL loses to FSU... I think we get to Citrus. If both 1 and 2 happens, I think we get to Sugar

Well obviously. He's building up the suspense/drama. Blows out Vandy and wins the Sugar now he has administration by the short and curlies

The search is boilerplate, to fulfill legal and administrative policy. An outside firm is vetting a short list of candidates, but Blackburn and Gilbert are the serious candidates and both have strong support. Rick Barnes and Dave Hart are pushing very hard for Gilbert for self-serving reasons and have managed to gain the support of some donors/boosters.

There is some creative lobbying going on, where some want Blackburn and Gilbert to work together, with Gilbert in an elevated deputy role. This could be a sticking point with Blackburn.

Is this in line with what LWS is saying? Does he have other info?

Crazy to think how long it's been since we had guys graduate and leave having only played for 1 head coach like this class.

It's insane actually.

Please help out a confused spectator to this whole process...I thought it had been posted here a few times that Jones and Blackburn were friends or had a good relationship. Was that info. not correct or does Jones just prefer Gilbert?

Brad Johnson was the QB at TB. He wasn't great, but he was a very good manager. Not as bad a QB as Dilweed. Ask just about any real Bucs fan how they feel about Gruden. He has a lot worse rep down there, than Butch has here.
