Nope. Not even remotely the same thing. Stop this comparison.

Huh?

He said we had the east on the line against SC and came out flat.

I was saying Washington had a possible.spot in the playoffs on the line against usc at home and came out and played badly.

How is the comparison not ok ?

Basket Vols have battled back from down 16 to tie it up.

"What a turn of events!" - Bill Walton just now before the commercial break while calling this game.

Beat Vandy and win the bowl game.

Extend Butch's contract. Has to be done for recruiting and staff hiring purposes. 10-3 will make it easy to do so. 9-4 less so.

Fire any assistants who aren't performing. 4 years of evaluation is long enough to know whether guys are elite recruiters and coaches.

Whether it's Hart or Blackburn on the job, give Butch the green light and financial backing to make the best staff hires possible. And get away from the Central Michigan coaching bubble.

Washington is 10-1 and lost to a really good USC team that will probably finish somewhere near the top 5 or at worst top 10. Also Chris Peterson has won a lottttttt of big football games.

Butch Jones hasn't won many games of national importance and lost to a horrible, and I mean horrible, SC team after a bye week. And it was a really, really bad loss.

I don't even need to go into why the Meyer comparison is ridiculous.

Bill Walton is a guy that I can't listen to even if we are losing by 100. He's so obnoxious and it's fantastic

Same thing with Urbs against Penn State and with Petersen at Washington. Those losses COULD possibly cost them the playoffs. Remains to be seen. But Washington came out, didn't play well, and got beat at home.

Those guys have proven themselves. It's different.

Washington is recruiting very well now too; better than us, IMO.

Butch and the Vols lost a game to South Carolina they shouldn't have lost. This is true, but....

Dabo and Clemson lost to Pitt
The great Harbaugh and Michigan lost to Iowa
The great Urbs and OSU lost to Penn state
Gus and Auburn lost to a bad UGA team
Kirby and UGA lost to vandy
Freeze and Ole Miss lost to vandy
Sumlin and A&M lost to Mississippi state
Fuente and VA Tech lost to Syracuse
Jimbo and FSU lost to UNC
Gundy and OK State lost to Central Michigan
The great Herman and Houston lost to Navy and SMU
The great Dantonio and Sparty has lost to everybody

It happens to literally every single coach. Without exception. It doesn't happen often to Saban but it happens.

But some fans want Butch gone or at least his seat to be flaming hot. And then in such a toxic environment, Butch's coachspeak gets blown out of proportion.

And y'all wonder why some big time coaches are wary of coming here.

Excellent!! So nice to have voices of reason amongst the idiots on here. They will be freaking out if Butch leaves us high and dry after this year.

I think yall are missing my point. Not saying Butch is as good of a coach as those two.

But saying, as good as those coaches are, their teams have bad games.

As an aside, though , two things :

- if we had played Washngton and OSU's schedule we would probably only have one loss (or maaaayyyybe two) as well.

- Calling USC really good is a huge stretch. They lost to bama by more than we did. And we were destroyed by injuries when we played them. They lost week 1

Maybe not in specific words. But Looking at their words and context it sure seems like it

If I was out here running down my wife and criticizing her every mistake and flaw, that sure sends a different message than saying all that and then simply saying "oh but I don't want her to leave. I fully support and stand by my wife!"

There's no unconditional love in business. I doubt you could find a CEO at any large, successful company that hasn't been criticized, questioned and challenged all the way up the ladder. When a HC makes $4M as the CEO of a proud, passionate and nationally prominent football program, it goes with the job.

Criticism is a driver of success. Leaders welcome it. If CBJ takes this criticism, much of which is valid, and uses it to improve his product and his performance, it will be very valuable. If he doesn't, he won't be happy in the SEC, because this is a results-driven conference.

You are comparing a really, really bad 5-6 SCjr team to the #8 and #13 ranked teams in the country. You realize this is silly right? Not to mention those are the only losses both of those teams have. Also silly. And lastly, not to mention their coaches have proven themselves time and time again and still are ranked in the top 10 right now. Maybe the silliest of all.

Calling USC really good is a huge stretch!?! That team is playing fantastic right now and is super talented. What are you even talking about. I'm not trying to be a jerk, but just stop.

Most people think he's on thin ice. I think that's a fair assessment

Most people think he's on thin ice? Who?

If we beat Vanderbilt, he's getting a raise, and maybe a trip to the Sugar Bowl.

Maybe my definition of thin ice differs from yours.

I'm starting to get frustrated, ha. I'm trying to find a way to explain my point that may make it more understandae. But it keeps sounding rude. And that's not what I want. At all. So I'm just gonna let it go.

I guess you're not seeing my points. And Its ok. I don't want to bruin my point to death and just keep re-stating it. Ha. Moving on. Take care seanjean.

You think Butch is on thin ice? Lol! At this point in his tenure and in this season, he's standing on ice that's about 2 feet in thickness. Only way he is standing on thin ice right now is if he ran an extension cord and has a big kerosene heater melting the ice to prepare his escape.
