The percentages say it's luck, no matter if you have Calvin Johnson down there everytime. Come on guys.

Lol at people not saying it's luck.

It's a 1/100 shot without a skilled player like Jennings back there and then it is a 1/25 shot.

It takes some serious luck either way.

I don't know about those odds. So far JJ is 2-2

He's 1/1. Heck of a lot easier on defense so that one doesn't count.

You guys need to look at how many Hail Marys are successful over the course of history. Megatron was brought up. How many Hail Marys he catch in his career?

Back to recruiting. What are the current odds we end up with a top 5 class? Looks pretty good to me but I'm always an optimist.

Luck would be if it got batted down, hit a players foot and bounced up in the air and then we caught it.

Executing it to perfection while Georgia defended it horribly is not luck.

Love how most assume JG leaps over QD. There is always that possibility but I think its foolish to assume QD wont get the start.

Also, I would assume if QD isn't the guy coming out of Spring he transfers. He won't be around as the #2 to JG unless there is a mid season change imo

So What did we have to do with Georgia defending it horribly?

Seems to me that was part of the luck on our part.

It's a low percentage play but it's not luck. We executed that perfectly because we practiced it and we were coached better for it. Georgia wasn't prepared and didn't defend it properly. It's not luck.

Whether it's luck or not, I think the most impressive part was the kickoff formation that allowed Berry to get some yards. That took some thought.

I will agree then, if you will agree that Georgia's last TD was luck, also. It was a horribly executed defensive play and a perfectly executed offensive play (except for the holding they got away with). Would you say that was a lucky play, too?

However, they aren't all the same. With ours, the yardage was perfect. The further back you go, the more the percentage goes down.

Hail Mary always has some degree of luck. Whether you want to admit it or not.

I think there was luck involved in Georgia's TD. Biggest part of that was a terrible play by Foreman. It took serious skill on that as well with the throw.

It did take skill, I agree. Just like Dobbs throwing the Hail Mary to the perfect spot in the endzone and JJ making an incredibly skillful play to go up and get it. Josh Smith was ready for the tip if it came his way and it looked like the other WR kind of helped to screen some of the defenders. That took practice and skill as well.

The Georgia play was less lucky and required a little more skill than the Hail Mary but both needed both luck and skill.

Can we please stop discussing over and over the hail mary? Who cares if it's luck or skill...we won the game! End of story!

On to more important things...Mizzou game starts in 6 hours! Last time to honor some special guys who chose us, when other talented players didn't want to help bring us back. Thanks seniors and those juniors who are also playing their last game in Neyland! Go out and blow Mizzou off the field, and walk off Neyland in style.

How was it less lucky? It was further and our guy was way out of position. It was pitch and catch. It was a 49 yard pass with 17 seconds left. It almost always takes a pretty big defensive breakdown in that game situation to allow it to be completed.

It's called a "Hail Mary" for a reason. It's a play of chance, not skill or execution. I don't care how many times you practice. You're acting like the play is designed for Jennings. We are hoping one of our guys comes out of a group with the ball.

It wasn't the last play. The entire defense wasn't lined up in the end-zone. It wasn't a jump ball with bodies all around.

Surely you can see the difference.
