True story

Getting off the interstate today there was a guy with a "need money for food" sign at the light. Dude pulled out his iPhone and texted while I waited for the light to change.

As much as I want to help those truly in need, this is why I have a hard time giving anything to people like this trying to get money on the side of the road. A lot of them are crooks, and this is their job...to deceive people to think they are poor and make a living off of them. I choose to help those that I personally know.

Getting off the interstate in South Dakota about a month ago, guy doing same thing. Guy in front of me stopped and gave him a ten. He pulled a big wad of bills out of his pocket and wrapped it in with them.

I've grown callus to the people that do that; 99.999% of them are scammers.

Now, the ones who have signs that read "need work", etc...they're the real deal, most of them.

No offence guys but does every recruiting thread HAVE to end up with people bashing Tony? I mean geez people its getting old.

You are pretty much correct but I'm the one that gets the blame for it all. That's what I don't get BOT. Oh well. I'll keep on keeping on. Only trying to help the forums is my goal but some people it's impossible to do.

A while ago in Knoxville, there was a group from a radio station that went around to intersections and offered jobs to those asking for money. Most refused because they could make better money holding the signs. I'm sure there are a few in "need," but it's impossible to differentiate.

Side note: KARM (Knoxville Area Rescue Ministries) is an amazing charity. They provide meals and housing to the homeless/needy. The shelters they provide are only open at night, as the occupants are encouraged to look for jobs during the day.

Nashville Rescue Mission is also a great Christian based charity designed to get folks back on their own two feet. Plus they take zero government money so they can run their mission the way they want to.
