We could just abort anybody who is a drain on society.

Just funning. Not trying to re-engage our abortion debate.

You are correct though. The name calling, finger pointing, and protesting does not help anyone.

Friend of mine said this was up on an overpass before the Hermitage exit heading into Nashville this morning ....

facts are facts. Trump pulled the uneducated vote. it isnt opinion. it isnt opinion. it is fact. i travel often. i see rural americana. i havent met any people of color jumping to vote Trump. they werent excited by Hillary. But def didnt see anything in a wealthy, ultra conservative white guy who honestly is a bigot.

This is one of the Big reasons why Trump won: people stereotyping people and name-calling.

Also as someone else already pointed out. Trump was far from ultra conservative. One of the main reasons I didn't vote for him was that I didn't think he was a conservative nor would govern as a conservative.

Our preacher was talking in a men's Bible class 2-3 years or so ago about social media and how the generation coming up is using it to voice whatever they're thinking in their head and putting it out there for the public to see, and how we don't know the consequences of that yet, but that it wasn't a healthy practice.

I think these protests are a byproduct of that. People thinking their opinion has to be heard and/or that theirs is more important than others' opinions/voices.

people have been protesting for a while I don't think social media has much to do with it.

Not to this scale and frequency. This has come about in the last couple years.

And after an election they didn't like the results of?

Also I'm.not saying social media is the sole reason for it. The participation trophy aspect plays a role too I think.

There was this thing called the Vietnam war that had a few...in fact in my mind feet on the ground protesting is the antithesis of social media as it is real.

Liberals by design are built for protest. Social media may help them stir the pot but if our virtual society somehow crumbled tomorrow they would be outside protesting about it.

You have a point about the Vietnam war.

I still stand by my original opinion though. At least for the generation in their teens/twenties, I think social media giving them a megaphone to blast out their thoughts and feelings, often with no filter, has spoiled a lot of them

No I most definitely agree with that however I don't think social media is really much of a factor of the left hitting the streets.

He was a huge Clinton supporter. They attended his wedding to Melania and he was never shy about ridiculing Republicans. When he started emerging as the candidate FOR the party he used to disparage, I considered sitting this vote out...cept Hillary won the other nomination. :fool:

Ummmm I came on here looking for people to agree with me. You MUST agree with me. I will not accept anything else. In fact, until you do, I'm gonna go out here on highway 70 and not let anyone go by. I am more important than anyone else.

Trump worked with Ford. He just tweeted that Ford will not be opening a plant in Mexico after all. Their plant in Kentucky stays open.

True story

Getting off the interstate today there was a guy with a "need money for food" sign at the light. Dude pulled out his iPhone and texted while I waited for the light to change.
