I'm just saying, people should be allowed to discriminate against the product but not the person buying the product. Still sell only the products you want to sell.

But that would mean if a photographer didn't feel like they should photo a gay wedding ceremony then they couldn't do ANY weddings at all? Even if that's most of their livelihood ?

Why not let them decide what they can do with their own business ? Private business is different than public services/business.

Btw i know it's hard for to tell in an online setting but I'm not trying to be hateful or inflammatory. I'm speaking (typing) respectfully, civilly, and in love. GBO!

Love God and love others.

I completely understand your points and appreciate the conversation. I'm just anti-discrimination. But you are right that a private business is private. Can you refuse service to someone with tattoos? People with disabilities? Etc?

A photographer shouldn't have to do gay weddings any more than a baker make a cake specific for a gay wedding. But if a gay person wants a photo shoot, and there is nothing 'gay' about the shots the person wants taken, then I don't think that service should be refused. Same as if a baker has a cake displayed, and a gay person walks in and wants to buy it.

This goes for any discrimination, and of course is JMO.

Your second paragraph I think describes my points from.earlier. I think in the real-life examples that have happened , It's about the religious ceremony of a wedding. Not the lifestyle choices.

But imo if America is to be truly free then yeah a private business can make the probably unwise choice to refuse to sell to people who have tattoos or whatever. What about "no shirt, no shoes , no service "? Is that fair? I think if that's what the private business chooses to do, then that's his right. Not saying it is right. Just that he/she shouldn't be forced to run their business against their will

As far as disabilities, my sister was physically disabled and wheelchair-bound her whole life , but was sharp mentally and even had her masters degree, yet she had a tough time finding a business to hire her, even though she was very qualified. Was that fair? No. But did we sue and litigate to force a business to hire her? Absolutely not.

Anyways, I gotta stop the discussion. Been a decent distraction today ha. But gotta get back to real life.

I hope no one is upset or offended. I think discussing governing philosophies is interesting as long as people don't get upset and stay reasonable.

Apologies if I gave offense at all.

One more time: Love God, love all others. Show and tell about Jesus.

Oh, and Go Big Orange!

How would they know if it's a generic wedding cake? They shouldn't be forced to write anything on it they are opposed to, but refusing business to someone shouldn't be allowed either. For any reason.

I disagree. This is America not China. If a company wants to decline service to anyone, they should be able to. I don't agree they should but I don't believe they should be forced to. In this country you should be able to be stupid, a racist, a bigot, a homophobe. The more you force people to change their hearts, the more you harden them. JMO

Should a black Baker be forced to bake a kkk or nazi cake?

Should a Muslim Baker be forced to make a cake topped with bacon?

Should a Vol fan Baker be forced to make a cake for a bama championship celebration ? 😁

Etc

Or should the person buying the cake not just take.their money and business elsewhere.

Again not advocating for hate or discrimination, or saying it should be done.
But advocating against an intrusive and controlling government.

Excellent

What if you are sick, an after-hours clinic refuses to serve you for any reason, and you can't make it to the nearest hospital in time. You die. Is it negligent homicide? Or simply the clinic's right to freedom?

Segregation is not the answer. Serving others isn't changing hearts. It's being human. Luke 6:31, "Do to others as you would have them do to you."

Our country is a free country. It means we are free from oppression. Is does not mean we are free to oppress others.

Government forcing people to do things is not the answer either. Like I said I don't condone any sort of hate or bigotry but I defend other's rights to do so. It's unconstitutional IMO.

And baby'shower heart is developed and beating as early as five or six weeks into a pregnancy. It is true that the baby could not survive outside of the mother at that point, however, a baby wouldn't survive without care outside of the mother for years after birth either.

New Health Guide - New Health Guide for Your Everyday Health.

When you check to see if a person is alive or dead you check for a pulse or heartbeat. A person isn't officially declared dead until their heart stops beating. So why is a baby not considered alive when it has a heartbeat. Then if you consider the baby alive and choose to abortion it, that is pre-meditated murder.

I'm just gonna give some bullet points over the flaws in this argument:

  • First of all, by your logic it's perfectly fine to abort a fetus before it has a heartbeat
  • Second of all, since when does a heartbeat make something a human? We can plug the heart of a cadaver up to the right voltage of electricty and make a heartbeat. Doesn't make it alive or a person.
  • Why choose something as arbitrary as a heartbeat to decide what makes something a human? There are so many things a fetus doesn't have that a baby or a person does have that you can use to make the same argument against a fetus being a person.

Also, your argument about the death penalty compared to abortion is laughable.

If you consider a fetus a person, think all life is sacred, and that murder is bad, then you should be against the death penalty. The alternative is that you think murder is ok in some situations.

It's fine to have that opinion. Just be honest about it.

If an adult chooses to go out, drill a hole in someone's skull, and vacuum their brain out it would be considered murder and a heinous one at that. They would be tried by a jury of their peers and could receive the death penalty. The point ispread they would be charged with murder. However, a mother can go to a clinic and request the same procedure be done on their unborn child, with a heartbeat, and others is perfectly legal.

Yes, if someone did that to a person it would be murder. But there isn't a current legal or scientific conclusion that a fetus is a person. So it isn't murder.

Get rid of the death penalty for all I care. However, abortion deprives millions of children of their basic right to life that they are guaranteed by the Constitution.

The constitution says nothing about fetuses. You're projecting your personal views onto it.

As far as the financial burden. Stop giving government assistance to people who aren't responsible. There. I solved it.

This is overly simplistic and not an actual solution. You could make the same argument for gun ownership and it would be just as nonsensical.

  • What are the criteria for "responsibility"?
  • How is that judged?
  • Can someone be rehabilitated into being "responsible"?
  • If a couple who have a child and need assistance are deemed irresponsible, do we just let the kid go hungry or without clothing and shelter?

"How did this happen?!" they cry.

You want to know how this happened? You want to know how America resorted to bigotry and racism? You want to know how we let a TV star with no experience get to the White House? You want to know why we couldn’t stop being stupid enough to listen to what you had to say?

I can explain.

Ten years ago I never had to tell somebody my wife was black and children were of mixed race to get them to stop assuming I was racist.

Ten years ago I didn’t have to tell somebody I’m bisexual to get them to stop assuming I was being homophobic.

Ten years ago I didn’t have to tell people I’ve read the Qu’ran to get them to stop assuming I was ignorant of Islam.

Fifteen years ago I had pride in my nation.

Twenty years ago I didn’t have to worry about the government spying on my because I sat next to someone suspicious on a plane.

Twenty years ago I didn’t have to worry about getting kidnapped for being an American in most other countries.

Twenty years ago 50 corporations made up 90% of the media market; today its 6.

Thirty years ago people weren’t being attacked by animals in the streets over who they voted for.

This is the country that brought the world electricity, the light bulb, that tamed the last frontiers in the world, that carved the faces of great men into mountains, that brought us powered flight, that broke the sound barrier, brought Europe peace after the most destructive war ever seen, tried to play nice but brought forth a fury never seen before when we were attacked, sent men to the Moon. But something happened.

We began intervening in other nations’ conflicts. We started trying to develop this network of power across the world. We started fighting wars for money. And when we were attacked harder than ever before, we pulled our punches and used it as an excuse to fight somebody that wasn’t even responsible.

We voted for change and change never came. We voted for the young charismatic man, and he sold us a bridge. He was given near complete power to bring change and what he brought us was a hamfisted attempt at health-care reform that he didn’t understand and we didn’t want. He promises change from the needless wars and brings us anonymous murder from above on an unprecedented scale. And because he happened to be President when gays got the right to marry, we are supposed to think of him positively?

Let me ask you, when was the last time you heard a song written with this much national pride?

We are tired of being led down the path of shame. We are tired of fighting other people’s wars. We are tired to the globalist network of power. We are tired of the oligarchy. We are tired of being undisputably the single most powerful nation to ever exist on this Earth and yet not being able to win the wars that corporations, industries, and oligarchs get us into because our leaders want to pretend war is an opportunity to be culturally sensitive and play nice.

But when we try to voice these concerns and desires we are called racist because the person we disagree with is black. We are called sexist because the person we disagree with is a woman. We are called homophobic for saying there are bigger priorities for the President than deciding who uses what bathroom. We are called Islamohobic for expecting our ultra-powerful military and police might to be able to provide us security. We are called rednecks, and fools, and morons, all because we disagree.

And we are told we should not disagree, because the “experts” say so? Like Nate Silver, who has been wrong about everything since 2012? Who was wrong about the results of the 2014 Midterms, the Brexit vote, the Primaries, the World Series, and the General election? I’m only an amateur analyst and I outperformed him.

We should just believe CNN who has been proven to feed information to political parties? Who orders their focus groups on how to respond? Who cuts the audio from anyone that strays from the narrative they sell?

The pollsters, who were so incredibly wrong about 2012, Brexit, and 2016?

Why should we believe the “experts” who get paid more and more for being right when they can’t get anything right?

Then a man we’ve known for decades shows up and decides to speak up for us - and you call him racist, sexist, homophobic, Islamaphobic, arachnaphobic and whatever else. But he speaks to us and for us. And you try to shut him up. You cast him as a reality TV star with no knowledge, while peddling Hollywood stars with no knowledge, as if Donald Trump has not been a household name for four decades?

Then all the people we’ve been sick of, the Bush family, the Clinton family, the Obama Administration, the elite of the world and the market and media all of these people we have been trying to get to change team up against this man. And you think we can’t see through that?

You lied about polls and when we saw through it you called us paranoid. You lied about crime committed and called us paranoid. You lied about the medical status of a public figure, for gods sake, and called us paranoid. Yet time after time when we were right, you just said “A broken clock is right twice a day!”

No.

This happened because we are so sick of you. We are so sick of not being heard. We are tired of being brushed off when we speak, so we don’t speak often. The Silent Majority.

Michael Moore of all people, was the only one of you globalist to ever actually GET IT. You don’t get it. Michael Moore, of aaaaaall people said words that brought me to tears because of how accurate he was.

The media didn’t want him.

The GOP establishment didn’t want him.

The pollsters didn’t want him.

The globalists didn’t want him.

The NeoCons didn’t want him.

The Socialists didn’t want him.

The global power brokers didn’t want him.

But the people who are tired of fighting these wars our military isn’t allowed to win, tired of being robbed, tired of being taxed to poverty, tired of being insulted, tired of being slandered, tired of being lied to, tired of our livelihoods being given away, tired of being brushed off - yeah, US, we wanted him.

He isn't any of the things you try to tell us he is. We saw through it and you still lie even in defeat.

At the worst, he will be a message, louder and stronger than we have ever been.

And, at best, he will take us back to the Moon, up to the stars, build unrivaled monuments that will last centuries, bring back our jobs and our pride.

People who loved Obama were saying ecstatically saying many similar things about 8 years ago.

Best to sit back and see how he does his job before crowning him a savior.

Eh I'm all for non-discrimination laws and the like, but in situations where someone really does have religious convictions at odds with providing a service, I think we should be able to make an exception.

That doesn't mean you can hide behind a Bible, Quaran, Torah, or Necronomicon and say that you don't want to serve a sandwhich to a gay person or a person of a nother faith or ethnicity. However, it should extend to situations like the cake shop or photographers and the like for gay weddings. They should have the right to refuse service in some situations like that.

Really they're just hurting themselves anyway. The right to refuse service doesn't protect them from word spreading about "that a**hole who wouldn't bake a cake for my cousin" or boycotts and the like.

To be clear from earlier, I wasn't saying private businesses should refuse to serve certain groups of people (other than I don't think they should be forced to violate their faith like in the abortion pill and same sex wedding photography/cake examples. Let people have freedom of religion)

Racism and bigotry are just as sinful as homosexuality and abortion.

But in a country that claims to be free , why not let them have the right to choose to do it if that's what they choose, and then trust that your citizens will be good and human enough to sort that out and not give them business. And protest them by not spending your money there. And again, then you would know who is a racist and a bigot.

Overall we should all try to fulfill the two greatest commandments as Jesus said: Love God and love others.

Good post. I am obviously against homosexuality, but I believe it is everyone's right to live as they choose. I am not ever going to perform a gay ceremony. I agree with Newt anyway. Government should stay out of marriage. If they want to call themselves married and have a ceremony, that is their business. That's between them and God.

Government forcing people to do things is not the answer either. Like I said I don't condone any sort of hate or bigotry but I defend other's rights to do so. It's unconstitutional IMO.

I remember 10-20 years ago any privately owned business had the "right to refuse service to anyone" what happened with that?

Too many businesses were doing things like refusing to serve black folks and accommodate people with handicaps.

trump flipped wisconsin, michigan, ohio, pennsylvania, states that voted for a man who's middle name is hussein last election. trump voters are not racist, the democrats blew it. america wanted change, shouldve went with bernie. the establishment didnt think it was possible for trump to win.
