Yeah, I never understood why so many thought GFW was a high up in the AD. It was always pretty obvious he was in something akin to a student position which gave him access to players and other important people.

I mean seriously what kind of high up in the AD who values his job would ever realistically post on a free, easily-accessible Vols fan website

I agree, we don't deserve anything from Butch. Actions speak louder than words. But when the actions don't speak very loudly, you'd think at least he would back it up in press conferences instead of acknowledging a lack of focus and commitment, which is obvious.

I mean why even hold press conferences then? Use that time to prepare for your next opponent as it seems you could use that time

He has to hold the pressers. I would bet all the money in Texas he hates them and wishes he didn't have to do them.

Anyways on another note, I had a long convo yesterday with a pal in the program who fully believes butch is going to get it done this offseason

dudes normally pretty pessimistic so coming from him it's something I pay attention to

Get what done? hire an offensive staff that can have their own system without Mahoney and Azzanni?

They have to do PCs and such. I'm pretty sure he would have rather to have been kicked in the balls as to have to talk to anybody publicly this week. It is just us bunch of butthole fans wanting to pile on because we are pissed.

Come on man you can't just make stuff up and run with it...

I never was in a "high up" long term position in the AD, just the perfect spot to get some recruiting and miscellaneous info here and there, not dissimilar to a GA position. I simply enjoyed this website and liked providing some tidbits here and there as I heard it. Athletics was never a long term spot for me, and I don't work in athletics now.

As for Jalen Hurd, I've never been a big fan of the kid at all and am not surprised in the least by what has transpired. And no, I've never been a part of any "posse" of players, that's a ridiculous assumption.

I apologize for whomever's jimmies got in a rustle over me agreeing with De1. I wasn't speaking specifically on Hurd's concussion, more to some tidbits ive heard about an alarming amount of concussions in practice over the course of his tenure.

Everyone's entitled to an opinion even if it is unpopular but I can tell you there are many even within the program who have become disenchanted w/ CBJ with how the season has unfurled. Yes much of that is due to bad luck but it's pretty obvious his stubbornness isn't doing much to help.

I might of jumped to emotional conclusions regarding "fahr butch", because I genuinely do think he can turn it around. But we as a fanbase deserve some accountability and honestly it's frustrating hearing the same coach speak as nauseam. Injuries & drama aside, you don't lose to USCe with two weeks prep.

As for VN, I really love this site and Freak and co. have done a great job with it. I'll keep reading but probably won't be doing much posting in the future. Even though this season hasn't turned out like we wanted, it sure is great to be a Vol.

What's your favorite Gucci track?

Along those lines. Obviously dunno anything specific and personally I doubt he will let go of either of those coaches. They are all pretty tight. We all know how loyal CBJ is

LWS is saying in the FF that Butch wanted the players smaller and quicker and Lawson disagreed with him on some things which is why he was let go. Now we have all of these injuries. Maybe that made their bodies weaker and more prone to injury. Another off season horrible decision by Butch. Why does he want smaller quicker players on the lines of scrimmage? This is the SEC. No wonder he had Kmac lose so much weight. I also wonder how the players feel about this S&C change and now injuries? Might be yet another issue Butch is dealing with regarding players.

Bama is going with smaller faster players. In the age of the spread, speed is a premium. Once everyone gets smaller and faster, someone will go to the power offense and dominate. But for now, speed is viewed as the solution to high powered offenses.

Then it won't work...gotta cut the umbilical.

For everyone complaining about attrition with the 2014 class, think about how many contributors/starters we already have in the 2015 class. And these guys are just in their 2nd year in the program:

Offense:
Kamara
Richmond
Jack Jones
Jauan Jennings
Dormady
Boulware
John Kelly
Hall

Defense:
KMac
Kyle Phillips
Tuttle
Kirkland Jr.
Abernathy
Sapp
Martin
Taylor
Picou
Griffin

Haven't heard from yet:

Sheriron Jones
Butcher
Austin Smith
Darrell Miller
Vincent Perry
Riley Lovingood

Additionally, 2016 was a smaller class (22) that already has several contributing in important ways. IIRC, only one from the 2016 class is no longer here due to not qualifying (C. Henderson). As I stated yesterday, the attrition point was overblown by the media. Jalen Hurd leaving just created the snowball effect.

Their LBs are all huge.

Yup. the 2014 class just didn't quite live up to expectations on the whole. 2015 and 2016 are looking much better. We did get some solid players in 2014 though:

Malone
Hurd (before this year)
Todd Kelly Jr
Barnett
Evan Berry
Wolf
Gaulden
Robertson
Coleman Thomas
E Moseley
Medley
Owen Williams
Von Pearson

as well as a few guys that have been good role players:

Bates
Mixon
Elliott Berry
Jakob
Weatherd
McDowell
Gavin Bryant

Still waiting to see if Charles Mosley can do anything.
