Well we keep insisting on playing Bama every year and the SEC offices keep giving us the ****tiest draws in the conference year after year and a lousy placement of our bye week. Our divisional rivals, OTOH, don't face a near-automatic loss to Bama every year as long as Saban is there and they don't draw the teams in the West we keep getting stuck with.

We've once again managed to face two play-off teams, this time in back to back weeks after being decimated with injuries. We followed it up with locker room drama, an RB who caused drama during the bye week and who refused to play the game when he was needed after an injury to another and who caused very real problems during the game for his team and in doing so helped us lose to a lousy team because we couldn't get our ish together.

The East leader that we beat has faced only one team with a winning a record and lost to that one team. Our goal is to win the East yet the inbalance in scheduling is extreme and they managed to pull off fake emergency bye week to avoid an opponent when they were injured -- would've been nice if we could've done that.

It's been a lousy three weeks but two of those losses were expected. The third was the worst loss we've had under CBJ and the bye week drama had all the makings to contribute to it.

All well and good, but I don't think anyone is worried about the losses to Bama and aTm. I know I'm not.

Would out Harbaugh, Harbaugh, if he wanted to coach. He doesn't want to be a HC, so Butch shouldn't feel too threatened.

Speaking of Harbaugh. I hate to be Debbie downer but you can really see how fast a superior coach can turn around a program vs a guy like Butch who has to out recruit you

Lol if y'all think Butch would hire Peyton.....he would constantly be in his shadow and no one would care about Butch any longer

The elite coaches these days seem to have you in the NC hunt in year 2. We were lower than any of the recent examples taken over by an elite coach, but Michigan was a dumpster fire in its own right under Hoke.

Or what it's like to play a Big Ten schedule.

Yeah, this will be a popular sentiment around here. Once Michigan completes its schedule though, it won't be appreciably easier than ours.

Will be interesting to see if that line of thinking will still be bandied about.

This time in 2014, Dobbs was named National Player of the week.

Let's hope we keep that guy for the rest of the games and the SEC championship.

The only way Butch would allow Peyton to come on board would be for them to have a press conference and have Peyton convincingly deny any desire to be a head coach and have him make the point to everyone that "Butch is the head coach and in control- even though I'm the 'ish, I am the OC and QB coach and nothing else...."

He would win big in this league too. Don't kid yourself

Harbaugh is an awesome coach. Two years in and a complete reversal. He can only play the teams on his schedule and he's handling them quite well. He was a home run hire imo.

I know. Doc's always giving me a hard time. He probably went some liberal arts college before med school.

If you consider The University of TENNESSEE to be that liberal art college, then you are correct...

:hi:

As was stated, was just making a joke...when upset I used sarcasm and a joking manner to ease my mood. Listening to Rocky Top helps too.

I have been on the Butch train, but I am starting to be swayed that unless he loosens the reigns on his control over "his" offense, UT will unfortunately not advance much beyond where it was last year in the win category. We all know how stubborn Saban is, and even he allowed Kiffin to do his thing, against everything he has ran in his programs before.

Beyond that or having to go through a HC search AGAIN, what are the answers?

It won't happen. I personally would love just to see his football mind work again on the field. Would love that to here but I can't see that happen just because of who he is.

Could you see the VOL walk if Peyton was there. Fans would knock Butch over and step on him to get to Peyton.

One thing seemingly being missed with all this Hurd destroyed the lockerroom talk. If he did do that much damage and was despised by his teammates there are two people equally to blame for that happening. Hurd is guilty for Sure but CBJ is equally at fault for not managing his players better than that.

Prized recruit from an important recruiting area. Hurd was arguably the most important player to Butch's program.

Doesn't excuse a guy being a cancer or them not handling it better but it's hard to boot your 5* back on his way to being a legend and apparently that's what it took to silence the drama from this overgrown baby.

I will say that with a competent down the field passer and a quick one cut running back this offense works really well.

I am not suggesting he should have booted him I am suggesting he should have managed him better. Seems pretty clear he has been treated like a super star bigger than the team individual from the start. Don't think I ever read a practice report where he wasn't in a green jersey. I bet his team resented that.

If you are as good as Hurd is and you are so much of a baby that you quit or get kicked off the team mid season 6 months away from the draft then there's not a lot that could be done to corral this guy.

Should this have happened sooner? 'Maybe. But I guarantee you that's not what you want to do if you're a head football coach in the sec when it comes to your star running back from the mid state.

It's a tough spot I agree but jones failed here. Now it could buy no coach would have succeeded in this specific instance but no doubt jones is at fault here.

I must admit I am excited to see what next year's offense brings. I absolutely love Dobbs and everything that he represents, but it is painfully obvious that his passing issues are holding us back.

Dormady, SJ, JG...regardless whom wins the QB spot next season, I am pretty excited to see something different.

We shall see soon enough I guess.
