I don't know, from an offense perspective we had the best game we've had in a long time with almost 700 yards. I mean just think if we didn't turn it over 7 times. Makes me wonder if we handle SC easily if Kamara plays with Kelly and Hurd doesn't travel.

I absolutely believe that would've been the case.

Doubt it. Dobbs still would have sucked donkey balls. Dobbs is the main reason we lost player wise outside of coaches sucking

Coaches made the decision to take Hurd to SC, locker room cancer and all. Just feeding Kelly against SC would have likely won the game imo. Alas, he got only 14 carries.

Also, let's get some action on this ARK / FL match-up. This is huge, and we could be right back in ATL, if things happen here.

1. Strength of Schedule: ARK has only lost to AL, A&M, and AU. All very good opponents, as we have seen. Auburn was within 6 of beating Clemson, and their only other loss is to A&M.

FL 6-1
ARK 5-3

Flip those schedules, and I think you flip those records. I still think Florida is fool's gold, and their only "quality victory" is KY, or if you choose to somehow think UGA counts. KY has also beaten no one of consequence.

2. Home Sweet Home: The game is in ARK, and I think ARK has a very good chance of stealing a win here. Florida has only played two true road games, @ TN, and squeaking a win out @ Vandy, 13-6.

3. Can Florida Run?: This is probably the key of the game. Auburn ran for over 500 yards... yes... over 500 yards, against Ark. Bama had 264, and A&M had 366... all losses.

Florida is only averaging 170 YPG on the ground. I'm not sure they can put up the numbers needed to get it done. Statistically, you need to run for a ton to beat ARK.

4. Air Florida: Do you think Del Rio is going to beat them through the air? Florida averages 260 YPG passing and Arkansas has allowed exactly the same amount of yards as TN through the air, 206.3 per game.

5. Break the defense: Per, the script. Florida is going to rely on the defense to last long enough for a victory. They do not want this to get into a high scoring affair, and turnovers may very well decide this one.

Austin Allen is expected to play, and has had huge games vs A&M and Bama, the toughest games on their schedule. He will need to bring the firepower to force Florida to try to attempt more on offense.

Bottom Line: I'm calling for the upset. A lot of "homer" in this post, but whatever. Arkansas is better than they appear, and Florida is worse than they appear. Homefield advantage throws the East back into an open contest.

FL 21
ARK 24

Heard several national guys say Arky has a top 5 WR corps and can definitely go toe to toe with UF DBs. If their OL shows up and Allen doesn't get murdered all day, I think they win.

To see TN make it to ATL, LSU runs the table to go to ATL, and then TN beats LSU for the SEC Championship would be glorious, given what's going on around here right now.

A bit of a stretch... but not too far. Auburn may beat Bama too.

Ok. I can't believe we haven't rehashed this recently.

Does Butch take the biggest Risk/Reward in football history, and have a cup of coffee at Pete's with Peyton, and tell him, "Come home. Run the offense. Coach the QB's, and let's win championships."

I've always found it ludicrous, but when Peyton was on the broadcast earlier this year, he seemed to want to be back in the fray already. Obviously... it's Peyton, but at the same time, he's never been an OC or a coach, so there is huge risk at the same time. Peyton would also likely run a pro-scheme, which is not Butch's cup of tea.

1. Odds Butch offers PM?
2. Odds PM takes the job?
Peyton is an outstanding football mind, but who knows if he'd make a good OC or not. He's just never done it. If he came to the AD wanting a job, you find him one, of course. But I'd rather we pursue an OC with a track record of success.

Wow. The word is definitely out on him and it's a sorry state of affairs that was totally preventable.

After spending some time reviewing 74's postings in the FF before and after Jalen quit as well as seeing some of the attitudes that have developed in posters that absolutely mirror what he's been pushing for a year and a half, I've come to the conclusion that 74 has been a cancer to this fanbase.

A lot of the complaints about scheme were pushed and pushed by him and his constant refrain for nearly 2 years has been adopted by many. However, 74 had resented the fact that the offense revolves around the QB and not the RB and that should always be the case in CFB. He has bashed Kamara and our other RBs any time someone compliments them and created strife in the fanbase as well as promoted hatred of CBJ on a repetitive basis.

Eventually constant refrains like that have an impact and people start believing it and it's rather obvious when you read his posts and then start seeing it repeated by others. TBH, I think a person like 74 that brings this much drama is baggage I wouldn't want around my team. It seeps out to the fanbase and to the press and creates its own problems. So instead of one drama queen in the locker room you get two drama queens with one of them airing dirty laundry and promoting an agenda against you.

It's utterly insane and I'm still not sure why it hasn't ended. Jalen's gone and everyone involved needs to stop this nonsense. It's like the Crowder 5 all over again but worse.

To add to that, I saw one of his posts in response to a post towards him that was eye opening and should get the mods attention. The poster said the good thing about Hurd being gone now is that Vol74 will be gone from this board and stop posting his agenda against Butch and this program. Vol74 responded that he is not going anywhere and will remain on this board, and continue to post.

Mods, if you read this, you need to pay attention to him going forward, because the trash that he posts and his agenda going forward should be grounds to ban him. As Utprof said, he's a cancer in this board, and the dirty laundry should stop being spewed on this board now that Hurd is no longer a part of this team.

He pretty much been an OC for is last 10 or 12 years of his career. If anyone can read defenses and find weaknesses I would believe it would be him.

Butch won't do it, because one mess up and he would be "Fulmerized"..

I think Peyton would be fine as an OC. Did you see the Timeline show? He was coaching the Tennessee coaches.

Yes that was so awesome to watch. I hung on every word Peyton was saying the whole time. lol

GFW,
Why are you no longer close as you were to the program with it being the middle of the season and the school year? When you have a player like Hurd and a divided locker room, it's never just the one player. I have been in this situation before. He has a posse of other players. 20-25 percent is not unusual BUT the majority won't fall on the sword for the ring leader and the team plays better once removed. Then things will be much better and the ring leader is forgotton. Hope you were not removed from your job in the AD because you were part of the posse. Regardless, you seem to have been influenced and probably close to the Hurd faction of the team. Anyone with common sense would know more than one player is part of the locker room issue. Hopefully the removal and some wins will fix it. Mentioning intensity in practice implies some softness in this team which explains the piss poor execution. If you are not behind me as a coach then the coach in me would process you and I think we will see that attrition. If CBJ is going to have long term success here then he will have to keep kicking to the curb and better recruit and develop well to replace. He has to be the Sheriff and not a baby sitter kissing players .....

Maybe the mood would be better if we were undefeated. The answer is no s**t. Fact of the matter is we aren't. I am by no means happy with the loss. I have accepted it. I also don't rail on about things I can't change. I accept things for what they are and I charlie mike.

Well then why come to a place made for that very purpose? If this place makes you so sad, stay away. Your blood pressure will be lower.
