Pretty sure wharton Hendrix Helm Scott Hurd Blair and maybe Raulerson were all in the 2 deep and saw playing time at some point. Bama is losing guys who don't play at all for the most part.

There is no way Raulerson or Blair were in the two-deep. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong. After getting Kamara and Kelly (both still here), Scott is arguable.

I didn't hear it but someone was telling me Doug Matthews was saying we are playing too much press man. I was like when are we playing press?? Most of what I see is CBs 7 yards deep and bailing out as soon as the ball is snapped.

With that said, I do think the loss was on the QB and OC/HC more than anything.

Our safeties are not instinctive in playing the pass at all. They are always two steps to slow in getting to their deep responsibilities.
It's the reason I feel like Gaulden should be placed at FS.
If Gaulden were full time FS we could scheme up even more blitzes bc Gaulden Excels in dropping down into the box for run support and is hardly deficient in Manning up on inside receivers.
I Love Shoop's schemes and blitzes however.

Agree to disagree. Florida and Bama games from last year come to mind.

Our offense literally crawled into a hole in the 2nd half of Florida Oklahoma and Bama. They went 3 and out so many times in a row there was no way the defense could keep stopping the other team. The defense wasn't perfect by any means, but the offense was at least equally bad if not worse.

There are players included within that 30 like Zach Stewart and Joe Young. Keep that in mind.

Here are the guys from the 2014 class no longer on the team:

D. Blair
N. Creamer
D. Helm
J. Henderson (Did not qualify)
D. Hendrix
J. Hurd
T. Paulk (dismissed)
D. Payne
R. Raulerson
D. Scott
M. Sawyers (dismissed)
V. Wharton

Many of these guys above weren't in the 2 deep. I don't think we lost a lot of guys that are actually playing. Just used the 2014 class as an example.

Would enjoy seeing what each of these players is doing now. As in, where are they playing and how significant is their contribution to the new team.

Again, agree to disagree.

Scott was the starter for one game at some point I think, and he was seeing reps. Blair was definitely in the 2 deep. Could be wrong on Raulerson but I thought he was in the 2 deep too. He wasn't really seeing PT though.

The point is, the guys we are losing were not being processed out like guys at Bama. Simply saying their attrition numbers are similar isn't the while story. I don't know any team since I've been following football who had 2 starters quit mid year or even in the off season.

Raulerson and Blair were definitely processed out. They were in the 2 deep briefly out of necessity of having bodies listed and then we brought in better recruits.

They were the definition of processed out.

With the exception of Hurd, I'd say most were ever in the two deep simply due to lack of talent/bodies in the post-Dooley era. As bad as things have been on the OL this year, Blair and Raulerson would probably still be on the practice squad.

Didn't like 90 percent of us making our preseason predictions say that anything less than 10-2 was a disappointment & unacceptable?

I feel like now a few are changing that & saying "well another loss & it'll be unacceptable". Hold yourselves & this program to a higher standard.

I agree. I wish Gaulden could play safety with Foreman at nickle. Good news - Warrior will only get better.

90% of fanbase is unrealistic too.

Did 90% of fanbase think we would play games without Kamara, Sutton, Kirkland, Shy, Khalil, Danny O, Hall, Hurd, Williams, JRM among others???

Hurd's situation is anything but normal. I could argue the majority of that list was "processed out."

Injuries have certainly been an issue and anybody would be foolish to say otherwise.

But that's not why we lost this game & you know it. Defense has played well enough to be 7-1, 6-2 right now.

Darrell Scott never looked good...even against lower competition. That's why Kelly and Young got props last year with opportunity...looked great in comparison.

I agree, he would have always been depth, but he's the kind of depth you need if you're a top sec team
