Jones was willing to separate with a long-time companion at DC for a guy that was clearly an upgrade and could potentially move us closer to success. I think it is fair to say he needs to do that on the offensive side of the ball. It's complicated, however, since its "Jones' offense."

Your last part negates the rest of your post. You're right though, if he did that on offense we might be in a better spot. But he already had his chance to do that and chose not to.

The bigger question would be is where is Debord focusing his time right now during practices? Trying to coach QBs, in which there are much better options out there, or is he helping with the OL, or a little of both? If it's OL or a little of both, then Mahoney clearly is not needed. If it's QB exclusively, then as I said, there are much better options.

To tag onto my posts above on JB's article from 247, LWS posted the attrition stats from Bama over the past 4 signing classes. 100 players signed from 2013 - 2016; 19 players are no longer there for one reason or another. In comparison, 106 players have signed for UT during the same time period, 30 are no longer here.

Not a big difference. It is funny how everything seems worse than it is when you lose.

How many of those were in the 2 deep? That's the big difference. They're losing guys who never play, we're losing guys who do.

I don't think people would have said in the past that our offense was losing us games. Things have changed this year.

I disagree. I think our offense has been worse than our defense for most of butch's time here.

Agree. I'm curious to see not only how many staff members are replaced, but how many change their roles.

I could see four easily on the offensive side.

There are players included within that 30 like Zach Stewart and Joe Young. Keep that in mind.

Here are the guys from the 2014 class no longer on the team:

D. Blair
N. Creamer
D. Helm
J. Henderson (Did not qualify)
D. Hendrix
J. Hurd
T. Paulk (dismissed)
D. Payne
R. Raulerson
D. Scott
M. Sawyers (dismissed)
V. Wharton

Many of these guys above weren't in the 2 deep. I don't think we lost a lot of guys that are actually playing. Just used the 2014 class as an example.

I would say roughly 10% is a big difference. Not huge, but significant.

Fanbase is incapable of seeing outside of the present.

Up until two weeks ago, the offense put up enough points to win under Debord with the exception of maybe the Arky game.

Florida 2015 - get a stop
Oklahoma 2015 - get a stop
Bama 2015 - get a stop

Texas AM - we put up a ton of points and yards while missing our starting RB

It's easy to sit back and call Debord a pool boy. Now is the perfect time cause we have put up two bad offensive performances in a row.

Personally, I do not think Debord is the problem. I lean more to offensive line being our biggest issue. Everything starts there. Dobbs has never been a passer but he has always been the best option at QB during his time here.

Now, if we fix the o line, does the offense immediately take a big jump with a capable passer inserted as well? I don't know. That's the question Butch will have to figure out before next fall.

Pretty sure wharton Hendrix Helm Scott Hurd Blair and maybe Raulerson were all in the 2 deep and saw playing time at some point. Bama is losing guys who don't play at all for the most part.

OL is clearly an issue, but there's no question that Debo is extremely predictable and doesn't give our best playmakers the ball. The lack of touches for Kamara this year and last and Kelly this year are inexcusable. The refusal at times to give our stud receivers like Jennings a chance to make a play is also inexcusable. Another unforgivable sin, making Dobbs a pocket passer and refusing to call designed runs. Debo is not creative enough to lead this offense
