This is unbelievable. What has happened to our football team. This year had so much promise and I legitimately believed that we would be playing in Atlanta for a shot at the playoffs. But from the first game, nothing has looked right with this team and now we are watching it fall apart before our eyes. What in the world has happened?

Maybe I'm burned by Dooley, but I think UT should hire the best AD possible and let him open the checkbook to a coach he wants. If Jones can't win the east this year, then when?

Of course you would since I don't spend my free time looking for silly things like that that doesn't mean a thing to us. But how you can make a blanket statement and assume that it hasn't happen anywhere else without proof is a bit silly.

Not only are we not winning the East we are the laughing stock of college football this morning.

Say what you will about Butch's stability or lack thereof with the University, he's being judged right now by an AD that didn't hire him. I wouldn't doubt that he gets a VERY short leash with our new AD.

Never thought I would see the day where UT football made me lose an amount of interest in football all around. One thing after another gets old. Especially when it is 10 years continuously.

How you see it and how NFL front offices may be very different but completely discounting its impact is underestimating the impact that social media, including unverified message board accounts, has in today's NFL.

If that were the case, I could ruin about 15 players' lives right now if I wanted to posing as a "family member."

The information 74 has brought since even before Hurd committed has been nearly 100%, other than the fact that he was actually transferring last year. It is obviously someone very very close to the situation. Whether it is an uncle, mother, biological father, or Jalen himself, it is someone very close to him and I believe GM's will be very weary of family trying to control the organization. (BTW, someone posted a while back that said if anyone actually knew Hurd's family, they would know it definitely wasn't an uncle. That statement made me wonder if there even is an uncle)

This sounds so similar to the Joey Boza situation in that momma held the Chargers at bay until they agreed to pay him 100% guaranteed money. I don't know how that situation played out, but I wouldn't be shocked if GM's are wanting to steer clear of Joey Boza and that garbage in the future.

Correct. And I guarantee you that NFL GM's will know of this stuff his "uncle" was spouting on here. Sure, it may have come to light anyway but it may not have. JH's actions coupled with his idiot relative airing dirty laundry to fuel this mess is going to cost this very very talented football player.

That's the most frustrating thing. We've been a laughing stock for a decade. I thought it was over this year, especially when we beat Fl and GA. But it's back. Even with all the talent we have, we are still one big joke on a national stage. I am so tired of it

When it lines up with what is actually happening, then you have actual information NFL teams would use against Hurd, imo.

Discipline is what's missing from this team. Discipline in all facets of the game. Offense, defense, special teams. The back to back timeouts only to end up sacked was so painful. No way an upper class heavy team should be performing the way they have all year. This was suppose to be the year. What happened? Poor coaching? Division amongst the players? Probably both

It doesn't matter. It's probably too late. Really the only point of the season now is saving face and not letting the swarming gnats that are drooling to have their shot at us win to make their seasons.

I counted down the days to this season. Right now I don't want to watch another game. I just want to it be over with. Crazy that I am legitimately worried that somehow we will lose Saturday or be in a close game

-Poor coaching
-injuries
-some players attitudes
-not once starting a game with any sort of passion
-mental toughness

Please tell me about this debacle, Tennessee will hire Blackburn and not screw that up too. For once, leadership is needed at UT that loves the university and knows what they are doing. I would trust Blackburn to make the right decision. Also, no one is above the program and that includes Butch. I appreciate what he has done in some regard, but some of his decisions have also contributed to the mess we see right now. Swain hinted at a team problem since game one and obviously we all have seen that. But Butch allowed it to fester and now boil over. It all unfortunately came to a head during an important conference game.
