Odd seeing people call Hurd selfish. He's not being used correctly. EVERYONE sees it. So he makes a decision to find a better fit elsewhere and it makes him selfish. He should just tread water in an offense coached by guys who don't seem to know how to utilize the talent while the fans say he should stay because we need depth at RB, as his draft stock plummets. Who is selfish? LOL
Finish the year, and hire a TE coach to prepare for the combine.
Go and tell scouts you want to try TE. They absolutely would have loved the idea, and taken him there.
Nope. Gonna just bounce
Butch has lost mind and control of this team.I wonder if Hurd's drama has contributed somewhat to Dobbs horrible play in the last few games? He was especially bad Saturday and while he should be able to focus and play better no matter the distraction, I always saw him and Jalen as close, especially a couple of years ago. On a different note, LWS is saying we have poor coaching and poor development that's the truth. And he said Butch still believes in his offense and he sees no major changes in that even if a new OC is brought in.
It's a shame and really disappointing to see a guy as important as Hurd walk away from this program, but recognize that you don't know every detail of the situation. With a coaching staff who controls the flow of information as tightly as this one, you better believe you don't know the whole story and that this isn't all Hurd. Screwy things like this have been happening behind the scenes since Jones got here, and I never thought it'd come to this, but this is a clear trend, so reserve judgement on a kid who took a beating here and probably dealt with a lot of BS that you don't know about.
Hurd isn't an isolated incident is what scares me. We lose 2-3 from our 2 deep every year it seems. These are guys who are playing regularly. That doesn't happen at other programs.
This is my criticism of him. Or at least wait till the end of the year and transfer to another school then. Quitting mid-season is 1) betraying your teammates and 2) making you look so bad to your future employers.
He quit
