I've tried to believe in CBJ, but after tonight I'm done with the car salesman coach that we have. Good recruiter but piss poor of a coach.

We need to stop with the half ass hiring and get someone good. We have done this in basketball too and it hasn't worked. Look how much money we've wasted by being cheap, we could have put the money towards a better coach and staff instead of buyouts and wasted seasons.

Good grief. Whiners. What do you expect? This team has more injuries than any team I have ever seen anywhere at any level. We are getting close to calling scout team players up to play. You guys need to get realistic.

Lay off the Kool-Aid, it's bad for your health.

His name should be Botch. Because he botched the season.

Too bad you can't botch ignore!!!!!! See Ya!

Was CBJ the one who got numerous block in the back penalties calls on great field position returns? Was Coach Jones throwing interceptions? Was Coach Jones playing undisciplined football tonight? Blame him, go ahead....You show your ignorance.

Good recruiter? thats debatable. He could sell youth, early playing time and new staff excitement past 2-3 seasons, and our top-10 classes were inflated by sheer numbers. Yes, we got some good players, but average ratings are not what top-10 programs get every year.

This season was very very important for Butch and recruiting. You can no longer sell early playing time. New recruits want to see success, and how they develop players. Unfortunately, we are not successful, we can't develop talent, and it can even be argued that this staff downright wastes talent and regresses it.

Same damn story all over again. Next couple recruiting classes will fall out of top-15/20, we'll have visibly less talent, and by the time our administration realizes there needs to be a coaching change, the next candidate will be left with 1/2 the talent we have now.

Until we open up the checkbook and pay someone, we will be in this situation. Check out Michigan.

Bring in lane keep everybody else except mahoney! Jk everybody. But it's time for a change. Dobbs doesn't make good decisions. Either he loses his job or the OC. It's that simple to me he is a Sr. And doesn't take care of the ball. Sad to say it, but it's time to hand over the reins.

18 year old Qb, but he is a coaches son so advanced for age in football knowledge!

If we only had one on our team , and a coach smart enough to put him in .....,,,
Wait , we do and we dont!!!!

Tennessee has three young and good QBs but they are all on the bench.

We are caught up with buyouts. Dooly's last installment is paid in December.

And this is why some people outside of TN consider TN to be a "bad" job. Continuous buyouts to coaches make other coaches leary of going to a place that has a line of coaches, waiting at the AD office with their hands out asking where their buyout money is. TN is a great school, great program, but has now become the unofficial "Coaches Welfare and Retirement Unit". And ditto to whomever replaces Hart, when that time comes.

Either Jones is going to have to "fire" himself or he is going to have to choke down some humble pie and ask for some freaking help at the OC/QB/OL position coaching ranks. OR...start getting knee deep in some asst. coaches s***.

Coach Jones coaches these players. It's one thing if it happened for a game or two, but it's a season long trend with no improvement.

I used to feel like you but you need to wake up and smell the roses. We have regressed as a team. Our offense has gotten worse since TAMU. Defense has been burned all season. We have not had one single game this year in which we have had the lead at halftime.

If the guys you have on special teams are making mistakes, then you make adjustments and bring in different players. Thats on the coach

If your QB is playing like utter garbage, then you make a change and bring in someone else. Thats on the coach.

If this team was one who was loaded with guys who were underclass men, then your undisciplined argument woukd be legit. Its not. Tennessee has a lotof experience and should not be this undisciplined. Thats a coaching failure.

Did you see South Carolina play like we did? Nope. Sorry, but coaching matters big time.

Butch does some things very well. Hiring and firing of coordinators; not so much. Washed up never was is a bad hiring decision. We have seen bad at UT. Why did we fire our defensive coordinator last year when clearly Debord should have been toast? 4th year seniors that have been starters since freshmen?!! We have done a disservice to these young men we recruited. We have no less than 5 players that could be pro bowl players if coached by someone other than small timers. If Butch can't fire these amateurs then he is an amateur himself. I am tired! I have done this too long!! Truely hurting.

i can tell by the way he talks that he is not a winner. Listen to him talk how every matchup is going to be hard. That is not what a winning coach says. He talks like they are going to have to grind out every win. Tennessee Tech...gonna have to grind out a win and be 1-0. What a doofus!

I remember EVERY analyst in the country at the start of the season saying if Butch didnt win the EAST this year then he would never win it........as it this season, he is the tenured coach in the EAST and Florida and GA are down................

Exactly, Butch will never win the east because he makes consistently bad decisions. If he was truly a "CEO" Head Coach, the shareholders would oust Butch.

Unfortunately, we will have Butch again next year........since he is on a 5-year plan
I have said for 3 years, he's waaay too conservative to be a successful coach in this league, he tries to fit square pegs into round holes..........look how many players from his 1st recruiting class that have NOT developed and is no better today than they were 3 years....to be honest, you take barnett off that defense and they give up 35 pts a game easy !!!

Another thing that is Butch's downfall.........as how he chooses his players to recruit as he calls them HIGH CHARACTER guys, but I call them SOFT TALENTED GUYS...... he needs to recruit some dawgs like Jennings and Gaulden

Hell no. No knee jerk reactions for one game. Geez. There definitely needs to be improvement in execution. I am willing to bet that Butch will get it figured out.

This staff has proven itself to be wholly incapable of understanding trends, making necessary changes quickly, developing a qb or any other talent at any position. In short, cbj and this staff just don't get it and can't get it done.

No truer words spoken on this board. They don't get it, its simple. We keep doing the same thing every week, and expect different results. It's like Fulmer Part II all over again.
