Danny O"Brien dismissed from team

So if a drug (including alcohol, if you wish) is not addictive and doesn't create a dependency (however mild), then it must actually do nothing. Otherwise no one would bother with the effort and expense to use it again, correct? And, yes, I do understand that wanting or desiring something is not the same as the physical need caused by an addiction. If you are willing to violate a contract of employment or membership of any kind to get that feeling that you get from a prohibited drug, then there is obviously an element of dependency period.

All drugs are addictive not all drugs create a dependency.

He should have chosen bama. He could smoke all he wants there. In fact, he could get caught smoking whole in possession of a stole concealed handgun and his coach would defend him. Lol

That smoke you saw under the dressing room doors was coming from cigars. Some of the old timers can explain it to you.

Whoever is in charge of PR should be fired. He likely isn't playing again anyway, why publicly boot him 2 days after acting like he was about to die?

This is the point I was trying to make. Address it however the rules say. My point was the timing.

Like I said, not a popular opinion, but one I stand by.

Alabama is confused by this.

Had a Bama fan message me earlier and telling me about this, asked me what I thought and explained the hypothesis here, he said "I wouldn't kick him off the team for that." I just typed "of course you wouldn't, you are a Bama fan"

most players smoke weed---it's no big deal---the government needs to legalize it, asap, in every state!

Agreed, except that we shouldn't be begging government to make it "legal". They do not own dominion over human beings body's or mother nature. Therefore it isn't governments place to say it is legal or illegal. It's already an inherent right that you are born with.

That being said, the only reason that it is "illegal", is because big pharma, the big alcohol companies, AND (this one will throw you off) the lumber industry lobbies billions of $$$ every year for the politicians to keep it illegal, AND it fuels the government's never ending spending on "the war on drugs" which is nothing but a scam and a way for government to rob taxpayers of more of their hard earned money and infringe on people's god given rights.

Hearing rumors he tested positive for meth at the hospital. Apparently it's been an ongoing problem form his dad bring it around tailgates. Source is from a former player that graduated last year.

Take it FWIW.

Thats not funny troll.

This may not be a popular opinion, but that boy got carted off the field on a stretcher, tied the the dang thing. I don't care what he had in his system, you put him on injury, and let him either finish his career as a Vol, or wait a few weeks.

This is bulls#@t.

You are 100% correct. Most of us, some wont admit it, had tears in our eyes when Danny was carted off of the field, now we get this??? This is a PR disaster, and whoever is behind this is a damn idiot and should be fired. This could have been buried and easily handled a different way. And I read somebody said this was not on Butch? How the hell is this not on Butch, you mean somebody else kicked him off the team?

I don't care what O'Brien had in his system, this was handled poorly, and my faith in the AD continues to flag.

All drugs are addictive not all drugs create a dependency.

So if all drugs are addictive, then they are inherently dangerous? And if the effect doesn't have the same impact, they lead to increased dosage or experimentation with more dangerous drugs?

Yes

The main difference between medicine and a drug is abuse.

If it was weed then he's failed numerous tests...... what's TN's policy? Is it three strikes and you're out?

Hang in there Danny. Appreciate your sacrifice the last few years. VFL

weed is completely harmless if used in moderation, but the same is true of most things. Too much of anything can be bad for your health.
