Some of you so-called "fans" on here..........

It is what it is.

But yes. The realization of it is depressing.

I have a blood cousin, who is a doctor. Not very close to him, but he could spend hours dicussing the structure of resources $$ to keep medicine the way it is.

The one thing I've had against all doctors is they take money from drug companies, lobbyists, that want to sell a drug that does not cure the said disease so they can all make money

First, my thoughts and prayers to all those either battling this disease or watching helplessly as loved ones fight with all their soul....

Look, most people just hate hearing it even seeing the "C" word....myself included. But it's pretty obvious Lawrence was just making an analogy and not a joke. He could've said most cardiologists have never had heart troubles and it would've went over a little smoother but still same concept. (For the record, I had open heart surgery as a 2 month old in 1976)

There's very few people in the world not affected by this disease whether it be themselves or a close relative and evidently Lawrence is just like most of us in this regard. While this subject can bring out emotions I would just submit that while some may take offense to this analogy it's rather unfair to insinuate a joke was made.

It's just a touchy subject and although he's a damn Gator, I believe he's brought solid posts and reasonable discussions to this forum for quite some time even if they come from an opposing view point on occasion.

If I dare to make an analogy of my own, let's not hang a decent man for a traffic violation.

Butchna, cancer analogies aren't my favorite either. Mr. Peach is a cancer survivor. Some people have no regard for saying things that hit home for others... Please know, Butchna, that horrible disease has taken several loved ones from each of us.. Hugs to you, my friend!!

Thank you! Glad about the "survivor" tag on your hubby! Every one we can steal away is a celebration! :hi:

Have you ever been out and you over hear somebody talking like a know-it-all? And you realize they don't know as much as they think they do, but the people around them just let them ramble, cause they're a likable person otherwise. Volnation is kinda like that.

Neither was my mom. She still fought cancer for six years and died. But hell, let's joke about cancer.

I was "there" with her in February when she spent the last fifteen minutes of her life dying a horrible death from ovarian cancer. Cancer isn't the butt of a joke. Sorry your family is dealing with it. Doesn't make it okay.

Whatever man.

You are nauseating. I've seen you do this type of **** before.

Cancer is a real threat for us all and its impacted everyone who's lived long enough to experience its unfortunate prevalence. That doesn't mean it can never be spoken or referenced.

In addition to your bull**** safe space argument above you also bash any perceived negativity to the Vols as though it's from lesser fans or less intelligent opinion. It's the same tiresome superiority you (and many others just like you -- several of which are in this thread to defend the coaching staff as though the staff is one-and-the-same as the program itself) pose in most of your posts in thread after thread.

I'm baffled at how so many treat you as though you're a sweet little princess whose feelings can't get hurt. Speaking for myself, I'm not a fan of yours. I'll keep my fingers crossed you'll post your better-than-thou dribble less often or maybe start a safe space forum for all you sunshine pumper true fans to bask in the glory that is mediocre CBJ football. Take the OP with you if you do.

Didn't call him any names. Never pipe up when someone says "cancer in the lockerroom". It was just real clunky and thought it was a reach. It was an attempt at being clever...thought he needed to know not to make a series out of it.

You always manage to put everything in it's rational spot...drenched with urine and phlegm of course. :)

It was an attempt to draw an analogy that wound up hurting some feelings...don't assume you know what I'm thinking, and I won't assume you won't be offended by anything I post going forward.

And I'm sorry for your loss.

Oh, I enjoy how you leave your smell in every thread on volnation. You and your UTAD stooges invade every thread to social engineer fan support for the coaches the UTAD decide to grace us with as a fanbase. You've become a bit more friendly in bashing all opinions counter to yours and the UTAD's orchestrated opinion....but you're still the same merciless enforcer you always were, lil pup.

I don't think you were unfeeling. Don't remember projecting your mindset, just my impression. And I don't jump on every reference. Seemed like a reach at being deep without being malicious.

You really overthink this. :)

I get it Butchna. This wasn't meant for you in the least. Not everyone is as level headed as you and I don't pretend to judge those that spoke out. Hell, I go as far as turning the radio station when the topic comes up. Just uncomfortable subject for me. Just saw some start pulling out the pitchforks and tried to temper the emotions.

Stood at the hospital bed while this wretched disease took 2 of my grandparents. I can't pretend to know you from your posts but ive always appreciated your insights and have always had a certain level of respect for your opinions. Just want to make sure you don't take my opinion above as directed toward you.

I have never bashed a player but I reserve the right to bash dumbazz coaches anytime I want

Players need bashing too. It's not always coaching.
Poor attitude and lackadaisical execution can not always be fixed by a coach.

Example? A former Wolverine on that team has come out about how Michigan's first string held Appy State in such low regard the week before the game they partied often and hard. Several thought it would be fun to see how bad they could beat Appy stoned outta their gourds and toked up heavily before the game. You can find it yourselves.

Point is a coach can not always motivate, can not always "parent" and for dang sure can't get out on the field and execute for a player when a play or technique or pass route has been practiced over, and over, and over.

Absolutely not! Really don't have an issue with anyone in this thread, including Lawrence...Junder prolly needs to double his meds tho. :wink2:

Dude, there's nothing wrong with what you posted, given the context. Don't let these forum bullies influence how you post. If you said the analogy with ill-intent I'd not defend it, but it was an innocent analogy that was contextually fitting.

I've lost family to cancer (haven't we all?) also but that doesn't change anything in terms of your post being appropriate/inappropriate. It's wasn't very considerate but speech shouldn't have to be constrained to the life experiences and feelings of all parties involved. Don't play into that liberal leftist bull****.

I have to meet with my 5 year old's Kindergarten teacher next week over his apparent anger issues. Junder is welcome to attend - although I'd feel more comfortable if he was handcuffed and armed guards stood at the door.

The kid's or the teacher's?

Haha. The kid's. But the teacher being a single young lady in her twenties without kids in her first ever class of her own probably needs to temper her expectations. He's a 5 year old boy. I'm sure she'll learn that his growling at her is just his way of e pressing how he feels. 😳
