Black Americans Support Colin Kaepernick. White People? Not So Much | Huffington Post

Not surprising.

72% of black people approve of Kaepernick's protest compared to just 29% of white people.

19% of black people disapprove compared to 69% of white people.

This is why racial problems continue to persist. We're literally seeing 2 different realities.
72% of one race, and 29% of another don't know proper conduct, and have no respect for authority. That is probably why 1 in 15 black males, and 1 in 106 white males wind up in prison.

I don't have a problem with the actions taken by CK. It's nice to see people stand up for what they believe in.

Good to see Brandon Marshall of the Broncos taking a knee during the anthem.

The movement continues.

This is the #Bringbackourgirls of 2016. A completely empty gesture that will accomplish nothing. ~1700 players in the league and there's maybe 3 doing this? Powerful movement.

You are free to go home any time you want. You can create your own reality in a black country that see's things exactly like you do.

If you don't want to get raped and pillaged you best get better at fightin.

He holds white people to the highest degree. According to him, whitey is capable of going anywhere at any time to oppress any people on earth while taking all whitey wants to take.

He holds white people as the alpha race, awesome and basically stupendous. I'm beginning to think it's more of a jealousy thing with him.

When I say people of color are oppressed, I mean that they are oppressed by the people that make up the criminal justice system, from lawmakers to judges to prosecuting attorneys to law enforcement officers. Yes, most of them are white people. Yes, people of color are oppressed. No, I'm not saying white people are oppressors.

There are more than 2 possible positions on this issue, FFS

What you mean is that one group of people spends its time building a rage against the other by convincing itself that the other group is responsible for all its problems. So much of it all starts with education, but it would be wrong to be educated by a system that is "responsible for holding you down", so they refuse the education that could change everything and then have no skills for change. But that all goes back to that "repressive" country and the flag for which it stands.

Quite the catch-22

I also blame the media and coverage of Kaepernik's "protest" for this hip new fad that's catching on. NBC was scanning up and down the sideline during the anthem looking for anyone who might be on their knees and then zoomed in when they found Marshall. That's exactly what he was hoping for.

Oh yeah. Media is eating it up. It would be nice if they just showed respectable people, but that's not newsworthy.
