Because I had these questions before the end of last season. One great performance in a bowl game against an overrated team didn't answer them and after one game against a team we should've beat going away based on talent alone has brought those questions back up for me and others. I haven't given up on the season, a strong performance against VT and beating Florida will answer my doubts.

Does anyone have a link to today's presser? For some reason, the UT Sports site won't plan the video. Keeps saying something about a login. This must be a Hart brainstorm!!!

I'm not talking about game discussions. I'm talking about the folks around here who act like Butch offended them personally for being so stupid. There's a way to talk about the game that doesn't involve treating our head coach like he is a blithering idiot. Being as this is the recruiting forum, where presumably we have recruits visiting and reading, tearing down a coach...who actually got the W...isn't helpful. And isn't discussing the game. It's whining. Snap and clear.

And here's an idea: Don't say anything in here that you wouldn't say face to face to a recruit, a player, or a coach. I seriously doubt you would offend Butch by saying "Wow...App State came to play. Probably should have been a bit more respectful of them and brought our big-boy game, huh Butch?" To which he would respond with some coach-speak complimenting his team's resiliency and discipline. As opposed to: "Geez, what a dumb a$$. Play the f-n game, not this conservative crap. Bring everything to every game. How did you even get this job?"

I don't speak that way, but I believe you're fighting a losing battle here. Have you seen these threads during a game? It's pretty brutal. The brutality carries on after the game if we lose or play super badly as we did.

It might just be the eternal optimist in me, but I feel like this was just a bad game for us like North Texas last year. I've seen this team do much better. I also think we win big if Sutton doesn't muff that punt. They scored off a short field and on a big time play from their running back on a wheel route. Before Sutton muffed, we had held them to a three and out. We were gonna get the ball on the 50 with almost certain chance of scoring. I think we are much more composed this week.

When I watch a game at home, I'm as negative as SGM. If I'm at the game, I'm level headed on my opinions but loud when I have to be. Yall act any different at home vs. at the game aside from loudness?

Nothing has been posted here that I didn't mention to my wife next to me in the stands during the game. The difference is simply in having a shred of awareness as to when, where, and how to offer such, and recognizing that while we do have the right to free speech, we are also responsible for the results of exercising it.

There is a never ending stream of people who complain that Tennessee is the only state where our media are adversarial. Well it sounds to me like our media are cut from the same cloth as our fans.

This is where I've been since sometime mid morning on Friday. I'm done overanalyzing what was our first win of many this season.

Looking forward to the over analysis of Saturday's win at Bristol!

I'm just happy we won that game. Players gutted it out, defense stood tall when the offense gave them absolutely no help, Dobbs had two crucial OT runs, and Hurd came up with the biggest fumble recovery in UT history since Billy Ratliff.

I kinda understand that but they were playing with fire leaving that line the way it was. Why not try Boulware? Wiesman was whiffing often when he pulled too. I just think winning the game should have bn priority over trying to RS anyone and it almost bit us in the butt.

Being so stubborn is my biggest criticism of CBJ. He has his process and doesnt care what anyone thinks about it. Reminds me of Jeff Fisher.

I'm sorry, while I happen to think that if you take away the usual "in the moment" reaction posts, the majority of what is posted here is pretty level headed- even if I disagree with it- you are being very melodramatic with the "free speech" and "adversarial fans" crap. You are overestimating your impact, and that of really every online community dedicated to UT, in relation to game reaction.
