Depth Chart released

Moseley starting over Martin doesn't surprise me at all. Moseley is talented.

I don't see Trent Thompson (Georgia) listed as a backup. I don't see Terry Beckner (Missouri) listed as a backup. The other 5 star DTs from his class were already starting LAST YEAR. There is no way they would still be backups as SOPHOMORES.

Hate to say it but Kahlil is looking like a bust. There is no excuse for him not beating out a mediocre talent like Danny O'Brien. Its not like the guys he's playing behind are gonna be high NFL draft picks. Both Vickers and O'Brien are fringe NFL players at best.

All in all I'm super disappointed in him.

You have out done yourself.... and that is no small feat.

That was one of the most "astutely" stupid posts I've seen in my 10 years here. Congratulations.

On the off chance that you are actually willing to learn... or for my own perverse sense of curiosity.... you DO understand that being 2nd on a depth chart at DT IS 1st string, right?

Pretty sure Shoop has autonomy on the D's depth chart. Doesn't really matter how Butch is...this is Shoop's call.

You really think Jones doesn't maintain veto authority on PT?

That's not my read on his style. I don't think he's a micromanager.... but I don't think he is hands off either.

LOL. Other guys from his class are not playing behind "serviceable DTs".

I will reiterate that the other 5 star defensive tackles from his class, Trent Thompson (Georgia), Terry Beckner Jr. (Missouri), Daylon Mack (Texas A&M) were already listed as starters LAST YEAR as true freshmen. They are all starting once again this year as sophomores.

Last year Kahlil didn't start and people made excuses for him. WHAT ARE THE EXCUSES NOW? 5 star recruits don't sit behind fringe players like Danny O'Brien as sophomores.

Lets hope this is another Butch Jones blunder. Cause we need Kahlil to be who the recruiting experts said he was if we want to be a championship team.

Yeah Im with you man. I totally forgot how bad O'brien and Vickers SUCKED last year and I heard they made ZERO progress this year. Stripling is a joke too. 8-4 is the sky

last year was his senior year of high school. this is freshman year. and he is probably a true 4 star, not 5

Cuz it doesn't matter. What matters is snaps. K-Mac will get more than enough.

Butch's depth charts are usually accurate. Obrien/Vickers will get more snaps that first game I think. Now that could change by SEC play.

It is not a good sign. OT is our position with the least depth. If Kendrick or Richmond go down, we most likely will see Thomas move to tackle or even Jack Jones move outside. We really need Hall to heal quickly.

Richmond out, would be Kendrick to LT, Thomas to RT, Weisman to C and Jones to guard.

Kendrick out, means three moves above happen beginning with Thomas

Not defending him, but he is listed behind O'Brian on depth chart. Tuttle is behind Vickers on chart

Lets hope you are right and this is Butch being stupid again. I just wish he would learn from his previous mistakes. This idea of going with experience just for experience's sake is dumb.

He cost us 2 games last year by starting Jumper over Kirkland. Lets hope his dumb personnel decisions don't cost us anymore games.

He rewards guys that practice "right".

Warrior is getting the Kirkland treatment imo. Abernathy is a good prospect, but hes not Warrior.

Moseley... practices right. I was big on Moseley until i realized he completely changed when the lights came on.

Bynum over McDowell and Sapp, seniority thing.

That depth chart is fluid.

But even so, it's still a very good 2 deep!

Honest question why is kmac not starting?

he is still learning and developing. Has to show more intensity.

Missed his senior year. came in way, way over weight. Was likely over rated coming out of high school. How do you rate someone a 5 star that didn't play their senior year?? Should have been 4 star tops.

Richmond out, would be Kendrick to LT, Thomas to RT, Weisman to C and Jones to guard.

Kendrick out, means three moves above happen beginning with Thomas

If Kendrick and Richmond both went down, do you think Jones would be the move to tackle or one of the young guys? Hopefully this does not happen and hopefully Tatum does not have to play.

No that's not possible! Troll negavol!! :)

Kendrick would replace Richmond and C Thomas would repalce Kendrick. Weisman over for C Thomas and Jones at guard.

I would not say " star tops", because he had shown enough in his 3 years in H.S, to warrant rating of 4/5 star.

I mean while their are some doubters about Chubb, most feel he is still elite Rb and that is worse coming off injury rather than just being ruled ineligible and missing year imo.

Butch's depth charts are usually accurate. Obrien/Vickers will get more snaps that first game I think. Now that could change by SEC play.

Just remember the needless consternation of Daniel Hood starting over Mo Couch for Austin Peay. Before he lost eligibility, it all evened out. And disagree with you on any blanket policy for starting DTs getting a MAJORITY of snaps. They've usually rotated those snaps pretty equitably during Butch's tenure. And Shoop runs that side now and makes the call, so past tendencies under Jancek are moot.

I was asking your opinion on what we would do if both Kendrick and Richmond went down. Worst case scenario.

Abernathy was a 4* top 150 prospect. He's not Colton Jumper.

And I said he's a good prospect.

But would you start Sophomore Todd Kelly over Freshman Eric Berry?

Abernathy is a legit SEC player, and deserves that shot at safety. But I'm telling you Nigel Warrior is the most talented safety we have, but he's a freshman.
