2016 Election Thread Part Deux

Hey, now I remember that the remote has a "mute" button!

Too bad it only works on the TV.
It wouldn't shock me if Hillary either died or was impeached before 4 years was up, or that Trump stood up on his chair, pissed on the desk, and said "I quit."

I'm guessing there are plenty of liberals who would have stayed home or gone third party if one of the other GOP candidates had been nominated. Fear of Trump is the only thing dragging them to the polls to cast their vote for someone they despised for almost a year. Some will vote for Stein or Johnson.

The enthusiasm gap is something to watch, though. We saw that with Brexit. I'm not sure it's enough to make up for a 10 point deficit in swing states, but if the polls tighten I wouldn't count him out just yet. He's running out of opportunities quickly, and despite what some believe the debates are not going to go his way unless he learns policy and/or Hillary has a seizure on stage.

Same could be said for the Republicans had the Democrats brought in someone other than Hillary or Bernie. I always hear I'm voting for trump because he's better than Hillary.

I'm voting for Trump because he is better than Hillary. We have enough Ginsbergs, Kagans, and Sotomayors on the Supreme Court already.

This is further confirmation to me that, for many of you, the only amendment that really matters is the 2nd. I've long suspected this, but this election and the Trump appeal have convinced me. You'll vote for a guy who has basically attacked many of our other precious freedoms granted to us by our Founding Fathers, because his version of society matches your own (and, as such, poses no real threat to you), but god forbid a libtard judge take our guns! We won't have anything left to protect our freedoms with!

And you're one of the rational Trump voters.

I'm definitely not one of these people that believe HRC will win in a landslide. I still believe Trump has better than average chances in Pennsylvania and Ohio. I think he will win Florida outright. This race is not over.

True.

Unfortunately they didn't.

But what the Republicans brought to the table is still better than what the Democrats brought unfortunately.

Congress hasn't the balls to impeach a POTUS, Trumps not going to be POTUS and if she died in office she'd be sainted and Chelsea Hubble will eventually be the 2nd female POTUS.

The odds are against it though......women will vote Hillary.... Because they're women.... Blacks will vote Hillary because they'd vote democrat if Bedford Forrest was running as a democrat.....throw in a mish mash of the dregs of society along with the Hispanic vote and it's an awfully deep hole to climb out of.

Well let's just be frank here, without the 2nd amendment none of the others matter or are guaranteed.

I agree no such effort to impeach would ultimately amount to anything. But the day she wins there will be some GOP House members spouting off about the possibility in the far right media, how they are going to ask Ryan to consider it, etc.

More cutting of nose off to spite one's face.

As to Trump, I've said many times, and still believe, that he would hate being president. He has no idea how to deal with bureaucracy and will blow a gasket when he gets in there and realizes he can't just tell people what to do about everything.

He clearly has no respect for process, at all. And before some of you can shout "Good!" because you think he's going to march in there and just tell them to get rid of the processes in place, you are drunk, insane, or high if you think its that easy.

I'm sure some congressman will file articles of impeachment but I doubt they go as far as the ones filed against Bush.

I've said before and firmly believe that if Trump were elected he wouldn't seek a second term. I think GV was right, he's the dog that did catch the car.

Yes, there is absolutely no bureaucracy involved in building high rises in New York City.

Yea and the Rs have their base that will vote R even with an idiot like Trump. They have cornered the ignorant, uneducated, scared White vote. That combined with the corporate vote and the anti abortion crazies are all they get pretty much. Good thing their demographics are shrinking and people are becoming better informed and educated.

I disagree on the women will vote part.

There's plenty of women that can't stand that harpy.

Here's the thing though...

If Trump was serious about cleaning up the government and putting out a plan to do so. A realistic plan and not just some Rand Paul plan to just cut budgets. But a serious look at getting rid of the waste and rot within the federal government (or at least in the Executive Branch) by firing those that need to be gone and dialing back the regulations and power of many of the agencies, he'd win in the largest victory since Reagan in 84.

I agree it isn't easy to do, but we have to start somewhere.

Funny thing that is only actually happening in R controlled states who consistently have the least healthy, least educated, poorest residents. Rural Republican counties are full of people living off the government with little education. Dem controlled states are better in education, health, and income. Lie to yourself if you want to though.
