I think many underestimate Kamara's size because we compare him to Hurd and vice versa. Kamara is actually the exact average height and weight of the average top 50 NFL running backs (5'10, 215 lbs). Spiller is 15 lbs lighter than AK, and Sproles is 5'6 190lbs. I understand where you think AK would fit in a scat back role but honestly he's perfect for the NFL, which may be a reason why he contemplated the decision so much leading up to the draft this past spring. Stating the obvious, yes he looks like a hobbit compared to Hurd and Derrick Henry.

Definitely. He has the build for sure but I wanna see him be an all down back which I think he could. I also agree with the Hurd comparison part.

Future NFL draft picks

QB - Dobbs, Guarantano
RB - Hurd, Kamara, Kelly
WR - Preston, Malone, Byrd
TE - Wolf, Croom
OL - Hall, Weisman, Thomas, Robertson, Richmond
DL - Barnett, Kongbo, Tuttle, McKenzie, Vereen, Phillips
LB - JRM, DKjr
DB - Sutton, Martin, Foreman, Gaulden, TKjr, Warrior, Berry (special teams)

Who on this list doesn't get drafted?

That's 30 names that are virtual locks to be drafted IMO. And I'm being quite conservative with naming only 30 players cause I left out names like Darrell Taylor, Austin Smith, Emmanuel Moseley, Stephen Griffin, Brandon Johnson, Jauan Jennings, etc. who easily have the athletic ability to be NFL draft picks.

Don't get it twisted This team is LOADED with NFL talent.

You have guys listed that haven't played a down of college football yet, not that that's ever mattered to you. Also, Foreman will never see an NFL field.

Much appreciated. Probably 50% of my reason for posting that pic of AK and Henry was to get likes lol looks like he's coddling a baby.

Thanks Kirby! As I recall, Mayo and Meachem did ok.

OP seems to make a good point that EB is only true first-round, mega-star Vol (many pro bowls and/or first team all-NFL selection) from last decade.

Mayo did "OK"? :eek:lol::good!:

Kongbo, Byrd, and Warrior are physical specimens. They'll be in the league. And even if they don't make it, you have to assume at least 3 guys from a class ranked in the top 15 will make it to the NFL. So the number still stays the same.

Foreman by the end of last year looked as good as Justin Coleman who is starting at nickel for the Pats right now.

Afaik, every NFL Draft pick in history was, at some point, having never played a down of college football. :hi:

First round or fifth round Malik Jackson makes a lot of money. Dooley sucked as a HC but he had his moments. #CamSutton

By God I think I might finally agree with you. From your list I would put question marks for Croom and Foreman for sure, but it doesn't matter. Aside from your honorable mentions there are guys like Osbourne, Jeff George, Buchanan, Callaway, Bituli, McDowel, Sapp. . . The list goes on. Will they all hit? No. Will some of them? Yes. I would put the over under At forty for the number of guys on 120 to play at the next level. Those are big time numbers. Jones has a thing for spotting underrated players in recruiting and that has really made our roster something special.

Exactly. Butch Jones several weaknesses but talent evaluation isn't one of them.

We've had a remarkable number of guys exceed expectations. And really very few busts. I mean people keep talking about Dillon Bates because he's the only big time recruit in Butch's first 3 years to bust. And mostly his struggles have been because of injury.

I criticize Butch a lot but he's put together a remarkable roster.

Mayo had six full season's; sat out two due to injuries. Made two Pro Bowls; one of those as reserve.

So, he not going to football Hall-of-Fame or anything. Solid career. Won one Super Bowl.

Better than "OK", but not a Hacksaw Reynolds type of career.

This would require almost an average of 10 per year drafted for the next 4 years.. Bama is not doing that they they are kings of recruiting currently

Just let him go Biop. It's a ridiculous number, especially when a little logic is applied like you just did. Just let the kid go.

If you ever watched the ESPN documentary on the 2001 Miami Hurricanes team "The U Part 2", you would know the recruiting rankings are not the end all be all.

2001 Miami is considered the best team ever in terms of NFL talent and in that documentary they made a point that most of their guys weren't highly recruited. Remember Miami was coming off sanctions and FSU/Florida were on top. Thus, most of the top Florida recruits went to FSU and Florida not Miami.

What made 2001 Miami the best team ever was not recruiting more highly rates guys than everyone else. It was EVALUATING talent better than everyone else. The made that point during the documentary. And what I'm telling you is Butch has been the king of player evaluation thus far. He's hit on almost every star recruit and has found many diamonds in the rough.
