The E-6 medic and E-5 Medic in my company's headquarters platoon, who were both deployed to Afghanistan and Iraq and were part of units that came under fire and neither have combat medic badges. Because they never had to preform medical care while under fire from the enemy.
I stand corrected. However for some reason our medic received one from the first Gulf War and there wasn't a shot fired within a mile.
