He's so damn young looking in that pic, I hope he's good enough to have a statue and street named after him

He's still young. Saban has about 2 decades more experience than Butch. Fans need to be patient with him but I think he'll win big here. Would hate to lose him and he go somewhere else and win championships the way Saban did.

I put a comparison on here one time of Butch and Saban by age and it was eerily close. I don't remember exact stats. Also I had no idea he beat Michigan state at central Michigan

Who is the pre-season defensive MVP?

Brent's view – I'm going with Kahlil McKenzie. His commitment to reshaping his body this off-season tells you how driven he is right now. And now, at under 320 pounds and a lot stronger than a season ago, McKenzie should be a lot of fun to watch.

I think the Vol legacy will shine when the pads go on on a few days. I think at the end of August everyone is going to be buzzing about the sophomore defensive tackle.

Did anybody listen to big orange sunday on 104.5 in Nashville this morning at 8, what did he have to say

UTSports.com has an updated roster. Tyler Byrd will wear No. 10. Jeremy Lewis is No. 33.

Niehaus is listed at 295. Ryan Johnson is listed at 275 but I saw him the other day and he said he's over 290, closing in on 300.

Talked about several members of the 16 class. Kongbo most notably...touched on the McDaniel issue (he hasn't graduated). Threw it to a boring sponsor to pay the bills.

Just said goodbye to my wife's cousin, a massive Gator fan from central Florida who was in visiting this weekend. Reminded me that no one respects Tennessee football anymore. He chuckled about our 11 game losing streak and then at various times praised Bama, UGA, Auburn, and LSU as being other SEc programs he respects because of their winning tradition at football.

I read some posts after a Clay Travis tweet today about the current lines on TN games. Everyone thinks we are an overhyped joke.

Know this pain all too well.

My father in law had people over watching the game last year (lives in Florida). He face timed me just as the Gator WR scampered down the sideline. His neighbors kept saying "you said they never lose to Tennessee" in the background.

I hate them all

Most people have no idea outside of their own team about what other schools have. I was talking to an Auburn fan yesterday and he had no idea we return as many starters as we do, and that a lot of those guys have been starting since they were freshmen.

When I listen to the radio in Atlanta, even the hosts who are getting paid to talk about sports lack knowledge of a lot of the conference. Barrett Sallee was on a few weeks ago and was talking about how good Tennessee will be and the hosts were trying to talk a out us being overhyped. He pointed out the we pretty much have 10 starters back on offense and 8 on D. He also thought Richmond would be better than Kerbyson and that we upgraded for the lost starters on defense. The hosts has no clue we return that many and that we have 4 and 5 star guys taking over those spots.

So, who bailed you out when you beat the ever living crap out of him? Your wife?

Will our boys make it all the way. I don't know, but neither does anyone else. What I do believe is our boys are going to be worn out by the end of the season. They're hungry, and win or lose, I believe they will leave it all on the field this year. As a College Football fan and more notably a UT fan, that's all I can really ask for,

I am excited for this season.

GBO!!

I guess he likes to overlook our being the 2nd winningest team in the SEC. And having more conference titles than they have division titles.
