Hurd was stopped twice for 2 yd gains. It was a great call early because it took them by surprise. They adjusted. It is not the solution to upgrading our offense. The upgrade must come in the passing game.
IMO, the oline will be much better this year and will at least give Dobbs time to stand in the pocket and pass down field.
Not supposed to be a "solution"...just another look and an effective goto when you need the short yards...It's a formation that will be utilized this year...mixed with the spread. Most likely the spread will be used vastly more but DeBord didn't practice it and run it in the bowl game because his cable went out. Watched the same game and some of our most smash mouth plays was run out of it. Hurd had runs for LOSSES in the Western Carolina and North Texas games...they as crappy as 10 win Northwestern?
