Dobbs has the 4th and 5th ranked highest total yds in a game performance in UT history(both SEC games), 5th all time in a season (manning holds two of the positions ahead of him), and is currently 7th for his career. If he duplicates last years production he will be 3rd all time behind Manning and Clausen. It doesnt matter how you get it done, Dobbs is getting it done.

Last year's field gave us a bit of a home field advantage. It was the worst playing surface imaginable sans quick sand, and other teams slipped on it constantly in open space. We didn't as much because we were as used to it as you could be. Something to think about...sort of.

It blew my mind how so many people last year said "the '16 class is gonna be a small, depth class that won't be highly rated because next year we're going to be loaded with an elite class"

HOW DOES THAT MAKE ANY SENSE!? It just completely baffled me. You can't just take years off & only sign decent classes if you want to keep up in the SEC. You reload year after year after year.


Edit: I'm not saying Butch took a year off, I just mean you can't fall behind the curve in recruiting especially in the SEC.

I'm pretty proud of you guys, despite the over-negativity over recruiting.

D4H says he wouldn't be surprised if kongbo gets drafted ahead of Barnett 4 pages ago, and not one single person dignified it with a reply. I fully expected 10 pages of arguing with him, but no one took the bait. That's the kind of behavior that will get this board back where we need to be.

I did as well. In fact I was using his line about quitting becoming a habit with my oldest daughter the other day. Every time an activity starts to require to much "try" on her part she wants to move on to something new. I told her that she was making quitting a habit and that she needed to recognize that before it becomes a part of her personality. Used the same scenario about growing up and things getting difficult in a relationship. If quitting is your go to then you may quit on a potentially great friendship or marriage because it got a little tough. I love Inky. :salute:

After watching Vols vs NW again on SEC Network, it is hard to believe how bad NW was. Vols played better on offense in several other games. We could have scored 70 plus if the offense had played better, especially early in the game.
Also noticed that I-formation which everyone seems so excited about worked two or three times, but only resulted in one or two yard gains on 3 or 4 runs later in game.

Bait? I don't think there was anything outlandish about what I said. Kongbo is 6'6" 280. Barnett is 6'3" 260. And Kongbo has much better athleticism.

If Kongbo is one and done, his physique and athleticism will be more attractive to NFL teams than Barnett.

Pass to Ellis out of it was a little more...EARLIER in the game...you know? When Hurd was playing? :wink2:

Hurd was stopped twice for 2 yd gains. It was a great call early because it took them by surprise. They adjusted. It is not the solution to upgrading our offense. The upgrade must come in the passing game.

IMO, the oline will be much better this year and will at least give Dobbs time to stand in the pocket and pass down field.
