Speaking of Kongbo, VQ seems very high on him. I wasn't prepared to see much from him this season due to how raw he is and our depth at DE, but they've got me believing that he's going to make a big, big impact right away.

Is it too much to ask for him to be a cross between Clowney and Nkemdiche?

Athleticism always wins out and this guy is a FREAK athlete.

It wouldn't surprise me if he's a one and done guy. It wouldn't surprise me if he was drafted ahead of Barnett.

Anything is possible with an athlete this gifted.

But sadly, he has love handles. So he's fated to be a bench warmer 😭

MRSA is not my main concern. And there was game just last year that players were sliding around in the rain and were getting covered in the turf particles. I can't remember the game - seems like a Big 12 game like Texas Tech or Baylor.

I remember watching a Mizzou game in a downpour and it was like a flash flood on the field. East, TN gets way too much rain for turf and there's a bigger concern particular to UT that many don't realize. UT's campus sits on sinkholes and that includes both Neyland and TBA.

When Neyland had turf there was nowhere for the water to go and the sinkhole activity and ground instability increased because of the way the field would drain. When we switched back to grass those problems immediately got better. UT still monitors ground activity but the problems we were having got tons better when grass was restored.

Watched the outback bowl again last night and ut needs a downfield passing game bad, not throwing g the ball will keep ut out of the playoffs. Hurd is 1500+ if this team can open it up some. Hope they fix it BC this team can be special this year. GBO!

Absolutely agree. As good as the running game is, its better if our QB can make the defense worry about the ball going over their heads.

I love a quality grass field. I enjoyed playing on them. However, there was nothing better about last season in regards to the field condition than when they had the artificial turf. Nothing. That was the most pathetic excuse for a football field I have ever witnessed. I've been going to games at Neyland since Steve Delong starred in the early 60's.

If field turf is so bad for weather conditions, why are the Haslam's paying to have it installed at every HS field in east TN? Answer - because it is not worse than bad grass fields. With proper design, bed and drainage provisions it is better with less uncontrollable variables as many colleges around the country have concluded. The weather patterns are uncontrollable and unfortunately, not every 'expert' in turf management knows what the #%&! they are doing despite pouring hundreds of thousands of dollars into the process. What happened last season simply should not happen again. Period. The health of the players is inordinately at risk with every snap of the ball. It was not even safe to have pre-game warm-ups on it.

Turf has come so far the last several years. I prefer grass if they can grow it like they did a few years ago but if they can't I'm good with turf.

Yeah...that 45-6 win really showed how bad it is.

Only 4 plays needed on offense.

1. Hurd up the middle.
2. Everybody go deep.
3. Screen to Kamara
4. TE up the seam.

OK, run off-tackle if you want a touch of trickeration.

Booya!

1 more day until fall camp. 32 more days until kickoff.

15-0 is possible fellas...it's time to stop all this back and forth arguing with each other and keep our eyes on the ball...Team 120 is loaded, experienced, hungry, tested, and ready to ball...it's time...

Two things:

1. Y'ouns done lost your mind up in the recruit profile threads.

2. Recruiting really is painfully bad on Butch's standards, and not a single reason presented makes a lot of sense

Carry on

I like Joshua as much as anybody. More players need to act like him. Some of you people are soooo touchy. Holy crap!! I was really cutting down the ability(Or lack of) of the NW defenders to catch a ball. I apologize Mrs. Dobbs:hi:

If our defense is good enough this season, we may be able to win 10 games with nothing more than the standard 14-21 1st quarter points scored by DeBord's masterfully scripted opening drives.
