Ohio State football coach Urban Meyer said roster management issues can be 'uncomfortable'

"as of today, Ohio State only has six scholarships available for 2017 signees. That is equal to the number of scholarship seniors on the team"

"It’s possible the Buckeyes could attempt to sign as many as four or five more players depending on the scholarship numbers. If the class gets to 22 signees (including Chrisman), that would mean as many as 16 current underclassmen would not be on the team at this time next year."

And people here worry about our numbers. . . Would be nice to send a certain couple of posters their way to oversee their attrition process.

A couple posters might stroke out reading this.

I think that's a great idea. Crunchy, Bruin and Catbone would have a new forum and a new set of discussions from a different perspective of the country. I believe they would enjoy it tremendously.

Good idea. I vote they give it a shot! Fight the good fight you three and being the enthusiasm you deliver here.

I also recommend Bowlingreen to hit the Florida State boards because they're talking crap about Clemson in regards to Cordarrian.

KB can join him to defend Florida.

Makes to much sense. Go get'em fellas!

I hate the ethics of what is suggested for OSU in that article, but that gives them such an incredible edge, if they get that ruthless

Programs that are offering guaranteed 4 year scholarships will quickly have around 20% of their roster that will never contribute. Programs who cut the fat will constantly be improving

Anyone know how many JRs for OSU could be thinking NFL after this year? That obviously will factor in a lot to how they fill out the class.

Sounds like 6 SRs. 2 walkons(not sure if these are SRs or not) put on scholarship for the summer. We do that as well when there is one sitting unused. Of course that doesn't mean they keep it. If the walkons are not SRs, that gets them to 8 spots.

If they have (like last year) 7-9 JRs jump to the NFL then they are around 15-17 spots for the 2017 class with 16 current commits. It says they MAY take up to 4-5 more for a class of up to 20-22. No mention at all of taking 25 was interesting.

It did sound like even taking up to the 20-22 mentioned meant some things had to play out and wasn't a set thing.

I understand what you're saying nick, but it never works out that way. There is ALWAYS someone that responds to said posters and keeps it going for pages on end. Then, the rest of us have to sift through the drivel trying to find actual worth while discussion. I don't think asking (imploring) others to stop quoting certain people who repeat the same worn out garbage post after post, thread after thread, is out of line.

Please stop quoting nick.....

Ehh, I don't see elite athleticism. Great athlete, not elite IMO.

Honestly we may just have different definitions of elite.

Agree or disagree, he has talent, but we haven't seen it yet... just maybe a few flashes here and there... whether coaching is sub-par or he has some mental hurdles, he needs to step up this year in a big way... I really don't see any excuses anymore and a kid with that kind of talent needs to buck up and grind... hopefully with all the talk of these newbies coming in looking so good, this will be the motivator he needs to find his groove...

Absolutely. He has the ability to be a very good player at UT. Hope he shows it this year.

What aspects of Malone's game are elite?

Not disagreeing, just haven't seen any elite characteristics as of yet.

You're not alone. He's not an elite talent at WR. He's a mid-level SEC talent at WR. He still needs to do more though and produce more than he has.

P. Williams is an elite talent though.
