Worrying about nothing. The critical positions that we will need people to compete immediately in 2017 are positions we are recruiting just fine for.

CB - Theo Jackson, Labruzza and cotman are each very impressive players

Dline - Bennett, Crosby, gaddy twins, Lawson each are impressive players

Rb is most critical and we are in a really good spot with Akers and Chandler.

Rest of postions are primarily for depth purposes

I think we have a really good chance. And that was before we added his friend Jordan Murphy to the commitment list. Recruiting gets wild down the stretch especially for 5 stars in the state of MS but I think Butch can pull it off. We run the ball a lot and our top two backs are headed to the NFL after this season so it has to be pretty appealing to a guy like Akers. We'll see...

8 days away from fall camp. Feels like yesterday I was in Tampa watching the Vols dismantle Purple Vandy. This has been a very short offseason IMO.

I think this offseason has been interminable. The RF has been the most contentious I ever remember. The recruit threads are like VN Valdez-- toxic sludge and slime everywhere.

If we don't win at least the SEC championship in 2016, this program will go right back to the bottom. We need to capitalize on this year. Its the best shot we'll ever have to building a consistent winner.

Whether we win this year or not, without the Jimmy's and Joe's to compete in the SEC, we'll be back as a mediocre team...3rd or 4th in East. Right now, this class on top of last year's class will have us looking up at GA and FL again.

See so many long time VN guys posting in RF who never have before. Now, we are about to finish in the lower part of the division in two years. SMH

And welcome to recruiting. It's pretty much like this every year, and the class at the end is never like the one in the summer.

Some of you are unbelievable with the level of disrespect you have for Dobbs.

We won't have a better QB in 2018. Guarantano will be a freshmen. Our RBs will definitely be much worse with 2 five stars leaving for the NFL. And on defense we'll lose our 3 best players (Barnett, JRM, and Sutton).

Nobody gets better after losing the 6 best players on their team from one year to the next.

If we win the SEC championship (which we have the potential to do) then I think we can land up to 4 five stars:

Trey Smith
Cam Akers
DeAngelo Gibbs
Tee Higgins (yes he'll flip back)

You're disrespectful to not rule out the possibility that we'll never have another QB worthy of holding Dobbs's jock strap. He's the GOAT. If you had my gift, you'd see that, plebe.

That's why it's different now..we learned the hard way..lol. I'm just kidding. This staff is better at identifying underrated talent and developing them. That much is an unarguable fact at this point.

Thats the nice thing about bowl games. Football season doesn't end in November.

That might squeak us in. At this point I'm just having to make peace with the fact that this class is not going to be as great as I thought it would. That's why I've been so crabby. I wish I'd never believed that to start with. I'm just going to roll with the fact this staff is goodbye at identifying and developing lower ranked players. That much, as I said earlier, is a absolute fact.

We need to keep repeating this post. I agree, Eric. But the trollers and whiners apparently can't help themselves even though it is only July.
