Yes I don't see any difference between the 2016 and 2017 classes at this moment. Both were underwhelming classes in late July with little in the way of impact players.

Butch did a good job closing in 2016. I expect an even better close in 2017 if the team does what it's supposed to do on the field in 2016 and wins the national championship.

This roster is built for sustained success. Even if we only won 9 games this year, there is still a very good chance we win 9 more in 2017, in our rebuilding year. We have guys all over the field ready to step up when the others get drafted. By 2018 we could very well have a better group of starters than we have now.

Good chance a few could choose to walk. Its always hard to tell what happened. Kid is quiet for months then all a sudden takes visits. Maybe he wants to look around, Maybe he's been advised to do so. Or even worse, he hasn't heard from a coach in weeks. I'd imagine silence is telling.

LOL. No.

The 2016 class and the 2017 class (so far) are subpar. They are not national title caliber. Top 5 classes are national title caliber.

If we don't win at least the SEC championship in 2016, this program will go right back to the bottom. We need to capitalize on this year. Its the best shot we'll ever have to building a consistent winner.

He could end up being a star.

Of course had I or one of the other "negavols" tossed this kid out as a QB to take this year a few months ago the responses would have been hilarious.

Honestly I'm not worried about this pick up at all. If he signs I think he will fill his role nicely.

Well you know the narrative around here the last few seasons has been that Butch has no eye for talent and is unwilling to ask players to look around if he doesn't think they can cut it. I can see why people are upset.

I think a few of these are mutually conditional so if a few don't end up in the class it was something that both sides knew could be possible. We'll know for sure once we lose a few and see how the recruit plays it via social media.

Butch understands how this works and is paid very well to get results. To this point, I have no reason to worry about the 2016 class.

Love the secondary class and adding Gibbs makes that an outstanding group. Theo Jackson is one of the most underrated kids in country. Really shocking that he is a 3 star.

Dline is also solid.

IMO the WR Jones doesn't end up here and prob 1-2 of the LBs.

I don't understand why people act like Lewis is going to see the field next August. We are finally in a position to recruit guys that need a few years of development, and if the coaches see this kid as having a very high ceiling, why not pick him up?

Our QB depth chart right now is insane, Dobbs, Dormady, Jones, and Guarantano. We aren't pulling a 5 star guy that wants to play this year, it just isn't happening. Worst case with Lewis, he adds depth and gets an education. Best case, he lives up to whatever the coaches see in him and hits the field for TN in a few years. Its one spot out of 25, people need to calm down and not be dicks to an 18 year old who wants to play for us.

Dude you are bi-polar... first you say I don't know anything because I point out that a potential roster full of 3* do not win championships, that elite talent does, and then you essentially agree with me and go even farther to point out the issue with your statement above... :crazy:
